Fellow Ukraine Bros, Are We Winning Yet?

I thought Europe was riding to the rescue? Or maybe they have and they just suck at playing war?

I remember when we "won" in Iraq and Afghanistan because we took over their physical territory. I hope for a similar Russian victory here.

It's getting late in the fourth quarter now.

We were outsiders in every way in those countries. Most of the area Russia has taken are ethnic Russians or at least Russian speaking. You are probably going to be disappointed.

I’m thinking they just want the east part of the country and not anything west of Kyiv

We were greeted as liberators in Iraq but we were outsiders when we occupied it. The Russians won't be outsiders in southern and eastern Ukraine. If they try to hold much of the central or any of the western parts they will have problems. They will probably cede those parts in peace negotiations though. If they even bother to take them.

Transnistria is considered a breakaway state.

I doubt they even want Kiev. They just need to depose the government there. Once this is over, as I said in the other response, they will cede it back in peace negotiations.
