A federal judge on Tuesday rejected the Justice Department’s attempt to subpoena 2020 Fulton County election workers.
Earlier this year the FBI raided the Fulton County election office.
The Justice Department also issued subpoenas for information on all 2020 election workers from Fulton County.
The records include those who were performing the following functions and duties:
- Individuals assigned to review Mail-In Ballots
- Individuals assigned to the Voter Review Panel/Board
- Individuals assigned to Mobile Voting Locations
- Individuals assigned to transfer results to or from media or transport
ballots, ballot stock, or media
- Individuals employed or contracted by the Fulton Board of Registrations
and Elections
- Individuals who worked or volunteered for the Risk Limiting Audit
- Individuals who worked or volunteered for the Recount
- Individuals who served as precinct managers and assistant managers
On Tuesday, US District Judge William Ray, a Trump appointee, quashed the subpoenas.
Judge Ray said the grand jury subpoena was unreasonable.
The AP reported:
The U.S. Department of Justice cannot have the names and personal contact information for every person who worked during the 2020 election in Georgia’s Fulton County, a federal judge ruled Tuesday.
The Justice Department in April obtained a grand jury subpoena seeking the names and personal contact information of county employees and volunteer poll workers. President Donald Trump has long claimed without evidence that widespread voter fraud in Georgia’s most populous county, a Democratic stronghold, cost him victory in the state in 2020.
Fulton County asked a judge to quash the subpoena, arguing it was meant to “target, harass and punish the President’s perceived political opponents” and that it was “grossly over broad and untethered to any reasonable need.”
“Given the low need for the subpoenaed information and the highly burdensome nature of the disclosure of the same, the Subpoena is unreasonable and must be quashed,” U.S. District Judge William Ray wrote in his ruling.

Nothing will stop these shenanigans but war. It's silly to even think our problems will get solved with the "courts".
Trump appointee or not. Doesn't matter. If judges have an ax to grind, they will.

What a retard judge. Protecting the political establishment that got him appointed.
Good ole boy network protecting its own.

It's all.a show, a production, pure theater designed to make you THINK that all avenues were exhausted by all parties.
Quit buyingbtickets...the result is that they want no results.

Look at it this way, if that time ever comes they can’t say we don’t try to fix it through other means. Ofcourse the judge doesn’t want the cheat to be known.

quote:Ray's comments suggest the core problem wasn't that DOJ can't get this kind of information, but that this particular request was "grossly over broad." A narrower, more targeted subpoena, rather than every poll worker and county employee, could cure this.

I have to say targeting every volunteer county poll worker for a GJ subpoena is so far across the line, I'd wonder if the DOJ prosecutor is on Trump's side.

quote:Nah. This was a stupid ask by the DOJ.
Arrest the judge.

I have voted for many Republicans that i though to be conservative and constitutional.
Boy was i fooled.
Trump is given names by swamp creatures to appoint, and lo and behold the names end up being swamp creatures.

The DOJ prosecutor set this up for failure. No judge in his right mind would subject EVERY poll worker in a county to a Federal subpoena! That was a horseshite ask.

President Donald Trump has long claimed without evidence

I'm not a lawyer (thank God) but I'm not a fool either. If there's nothing to hide and the answers sought by the DOJ will aid in increasing Americans confidence in our voting methods.....
The only reason to reject the transparency sought would be to hide something. Which only increases Americans suspicions and mistrust of our voting system.
Not only is this an obvious attempt to hide exposure of cheating, but also to cause further chaos among voters.
How can this eventually end up in anything other than some type of civil rebellion?

And????
That's how some investigations are handled. What's the problem? They should be eager and willing to stand up and defend the process..... unless some are guilty.... come on now!
