ISPs are a monopoly that border on a public utility.
Giving ISPs complete control over the content of the internet and the ability to affect the market and content with 0 input or oversight from the end user is terrifying to me.
I see you edited your part about 0 innovation, because if you want to see 0 innovation let the government control how much they can charge.

Bingo.
No need for more government
Eh, let the government set minimum standards. I'm repeating it ad nauseum but the 2014 proposal banned the things that the "pro FCC NN bill" crowd things they are arguing for without Title 2. It really isn't this difficult.

It shifts regulatory control from fed to local. Good thing we don't have any corruption here in Louisiana.

I cant tell if you are serious or not, but if you think the telecom industry is part of the free market, then
I have but only one upvote to give.
Google owns the data platform
Facebook owns Social Media
The three carriers Verizon / ATT / TMO will own your entertainment consumption.
Nokia / Erricson own the actual networks

I'm fine with repealing the current NN laws that we have because there are some things that I disagree with hidden in there
but I do believe there needs to be some consumer protection since these are government created monopolies we are dealing with
this isn't the free market
Agree 100%. Local municipalities have enabled regional monopolies. THat is a huge issue (the current order does nothing to change this).
I agree there need to be some minimum consumer protections (like banning throttling, etc). Great. We can do that.
Everyone is stuck on the wrong argument. Nobody should want Title 2 for the internet. That is a kiss of death for something like that. We should instead be putting pressure on congress to solve the protection issues while avoiding title 2.

What part of net neutrality involves government price setting?
Telling ISP’s they need to keep their networks set to default and not discriminate traffic to abuse their gatekeeper capability and often monopoly status to extort internet companies and consumers is not price fixing.

No. You ignorant clown. It's not the ISP control vs government control. It's ISP control of traffic based on content vs equal treatment of traffic.

Title 2 classification is not a minimum standard

Right we are going to be nickle and dimed for access to sites
What's to stop a company from saying "hey, come join us, we don't mess with throttling or site control!"
Are we that fricking clueless as consumers to have to sick daddy government on the companies? How are you people so quick to emasculate yourself in favor of a faceless, unelected power with zero accountability?

On advice of security the FCC just took a brief recess

What could go wrong?

Sure. Sure. So why is Title 2 necessary? A proposal was already made that avoided it.

Would the FCC have any regulations to protect the consumer after NN is removed?

Free market is gonna free market. The internet is not like a river stream or a grassland, you're not entitled to it. If you don't like the internet without net neutrality, then don't use it. Simple.
Yea you are an idiot
Nothing you say on this topic should ever be taken seriously

And the moment you can convince the whole of the Republican Party and part of the Democratic Party to get behind that, fine, until then title 2 is the only pathway to ensuring a content non-discriminatory internet and to prevent the extortionary tactics of often monopolistic entities to exploit.

Unfortunately, you don't get to make a choice on that.
The carriers are buying all IP / Content libraries to not only compete with each other but get first to market for 5G.
NN is only slowing that process a tad. Still will happen.
