Apparently, they're parking teams at gun shows and flagging anyone with NY plates.

"Thanks for putting out our fires for 27 years, inhaling toxins, and shortening your lifespan. We spotted your NY plates at a gun expo in PA and followed you back until you were just a couple miles from your house. Here are some felony charges."

A veteran FDNY firefighter was arrested after allegedly buying an assault weapon, ammunition and “ghost gun” parts in Philadelphia, then bringing them into NYC, The Post has learned.
Aaron B. Martin, 49, who works for FDNY’s elite Rescue 4 in Queens, was hit with multiple charges, including felony possession of an assault weapon, records show.
Stemming from a crackdown on illegal guns flowing into the city, Martin’s Feb. 13 arrest was part of a multi-agency firearms trafficking investigation involving the Queens District Attorney’s office and the State Police.
A surveillance team tailed Martin to the “Oaks Extravaganza” gun show at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center on Feb. 13, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Queens District Attorney’s office.
They watched as Martin allegedly paid cash for two “Polymer80 firearm receivers” — parts that can be used to make “ghost guns,” which don’t have serial numbers and can’t be traced.
From another vendor at the show, Martin bought two “high-capacity magazines” capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition, the complaint states.
Martin then went to a third vendor and purchased a Sipahi semi-automatic 12-gauge assault shotgun in a carrying case covered with an American flag pattern, prosecutors contend in court papers.
The surveillance team followed Martin’s black Ford Excursion from Oaks, Pa. into New York via Interstate 95. He was pulled over on the Belt Parkway in Howard Beach and arrested

Police seized the weapons and parts from Martin’s car, along with brass knuckles, the document states.

Statistically speaking, he voted for this, and will again.

I am conflicted about that. I get your point but the dude is sucking off the tit of taxpayers to the tune of $150K last year. He can afford his own attorney.

Does New York's soft on crime policies apply to law-abiding black firefighters, or are they only intended to keep thugs on the streets terrorizing the citizenry? With the out of control crime in that place, I'd be armed to the teeth too.

NYC actually believes, earnestly apparently, that their gun crime epidemic is the result of the ever mythical 'gun show loophole' in PA when 61% of gun crimes in NY have a firearm originating in FL, NC, GA, OH, SC, & VA...states that don't even border NY.
Something like 3 out of 4 gun crimes in NY involves firearms from out of state. The national average is 29%. It's a useless statistic if you think about it and is a symptom of their culture, not the affliction itself.

This story is made up. I was told cops shoot black people with guns immediately.

Seeing what he does I’d argue the taxpayers got their money worth.

With all due respect, elections have consequences, as do your choices when selecting a place to live. When you live in a liberal cesspool, this kind of shite happens.

How is this not entrapment?
It wouldn't be entrapment, it would be illegal search and seizure without a warrant, unless the firefighter gave permission for the search when he was stopped, thinking his firefighter status would catch him a break from the cops.

It also doesn’t seem that NYC officials have asked themselves the obvious question, if availability of guns is the reason behind NYC’s gun crime problem why doesn’t PA and the other states where guns are readily available have a gun crime problem?

Its true, theres a certain Yank whose made millions off of this trade route in Charleston, SC for over a decade. He owns and chain of pawn shops and will buy any gun, any time, from anyone as long as they take his shite price. Once a month he loads up all these cheap mostly dirty guns (used in a crime locally) and ships them right up to New York.

The urban areas of those states absolutely have gun crime problems.
But we still agree that the guns aren't the problem- it's the revolving doors of justice problem. Nobody ever wants to say it out loud, but we need more prisons built so we aren't forced to let people out in order to put new people in. The population expands year after year after year, but it's been decades since any new prisons have been built.
