Tip line and expressed concern about him having guns and the likelihood that he would use them at a school to kill people.

They dropped the ball.

If they were too busy covering for the dossier, they should've sent the tip down the line to the local PD at least.

FBI gets hundreds of tips. They do not have the man power to investigate every tip.

They should have turned it over to local police. It sounds like they were already familiar with him.

Geezus....how many times does this shite need to happen before people realize nobody dropped the ball. You have people at high enough levels in the FBI that intentionally shut this stuff down.

I can almost bet my mortgage that someone at the FBI did start looking into it before a supervisor came in and told them to stop wasting time.

Did the 9/11 commission investigation report teach us nothing?

This puts the MSM and left in a curious position.

They have been tickling the FBI's balls for months now in their bid to take down a sitting President.

Will they cover this story?

Someone is going to get the date of when that tip was given to the FBI, and sync it up to FBI being grilled on the Hill about trying to stage a coup. Will make for some interesting memes.

Washington Post

quote:

The FBI in January received a tip to a public reporting line that Nikolas Cruz might carry out a school shooting, but failed to pass the information to its Miami field office or investigate any further, authorities said Friday.

The bureau acknowledged the startling lapse in a statement, saying a person close to Cruz had contacted the bureau’s public access tip line on January 5 and “provided information about Cruz’s gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting.” On Wednesday, Cruz killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.

The bureau said the information “should have been assessed as a potential threat to life” and passed to the Miami field office, but was not, and “no further investigation was conducted at that time.”

“We are still investigating the facts,” FBI Director Christopher Wray said in a statement. “I am committed to getting to the bottom of what happened in this particular matter, as well as reviewing our processes for responding to information that we receive from the public. It’s up to all Americans to be vigilant, and when members of the public contact us with concerns, we must act properly and quickly.”

“We have spoken with victims and families, and deeply regret the additional pain this causes all those affected by this horrific tragedy,” he added. “All of the men and women of the FBI are dedicated to keeping the American people safe, and are relentlessly committed to improving all that we do and how we do it.”

They were all tied up in fake AF Russian hearings to do their damn job.

Thanks Democrats, you're responsible for 17 dead kids.

FBI Statement on the Shooting in Parkland, Florida

On January 5, 2018, a person close to Nikolas Cruz contacted the FBI’s Public Access Line (PAL) tipline to report concerns about him. The caller provided information about Cruz’s gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting.

Under established protocols, the information provided by the caller should have been assessed as a potential threat to life. The information then should have been forwarded to the FBI Miami Field Office, where appropriate investigative steps would have been taken.

We have determined that these protocols were not followed for the information received by the PAL on January 5. The information was not provided to the Miami Field Office, and no further investigation was conducted at that time.

FBI Director Christopher Wray said:

“We are still investigating the facts. I am committed to getting to the bottom of what happened in this particular matter, as well as reviewing our processes for responding to information that we receive from the public. It’s up to all Americans to be vigilant, and when members of the public contact us with concerns, we must act properly and quickly.

“We have spoken with victims and families, and deeply regret the additional pain this causes all those affected by this horrific tragedy. All of the men and women of the FBI are dedicated to keeping the American people safe, and are relentlessly committed to improving all that we do and how we do it.”
