my guess is she was the short straw for the Holidays schedule and the only ASAC on duty available to the Press and the NOLA SAC was on PTO for the Holidays and unavailable
So she got put in front of the cameras and was clearly not up to the task

Obviously. Buy she was still obviously given very clear directives from someone higher than her as to what she could or couldn't say, and that was where she got thrown off badly.
There was no good reason not to allow her to be pretty much fully forthcoming in that particular setting, but the default mode for these people at this time, is clearly to be otherwise,
