Correct. So back to my original point. Do you know for certain he tried to make them operational bombs?
If not, then you're no better than the "other side" saying it is a hoax. All that is known is that he made devices that looked like bombs.

Which is what I've been saying.
Look, here are the possibilities:
1.) Crazy guy intended to kill people and sent real bombs through the mail, which all malfunctioned.
2.) Crazy guy intended to fool people into thinking he meant to kill people and sent fake bombs through the mail.
In situation #1, the bombs aren't hoaxes.
In situation #2, they are hoaxes.
What I said in my first post and have maintained throughout this thread is that IF situation #2 is the truth (that has yet to be determined), then the bombs are indeed hoaxes.

No, he put a lot of effort into a elaborate plan of who and how to mail these thing, but no effort into making a functional bomb, and no effort to maximize the chance they would actually be delivered. To quote the NYPD bomb squad tech "the first clue that a bomb is a hoax is it looks like a bomb!"

I've never said this. I was one of the ones in the Shapiro thread saying it was stupid for people on the right to knee-jerk to the "false flag" explanation with zero evidence to show for it.

They were hoax devices and were inoperable. Wray said what he said in the event another pops up, he wants it treated as real just as a precaution.

If point #2 in my earlier post is correct, then the FBI used the wrong word, by definition. They aren't infallible, I think both sides of the aisle can agree on that point
