Question for the lawyers, how can he plead the fifth when that is to keep you from incriminating yourself. Fauci has a pardon so he cant be charged with any crimes so he cant incriminate himself.
Is it so he doesnt set himself up for a state to charge him with something?

Last night, ABC news devoted time to a segment about a squirrel running loose at a baseball park. No mention of Fauci's hearing or his diary.
The pandemic shut down the WORLD and Fauci was a key player in it. His diary is a fascinating look at his contemporaneous thoughts. I haven't heard a single person say the diary is fake. One would think it would garner a little bit of interest.

He’s banking on whatever court the obstruction charge goes to either overturns it or takes so long that nobody cares anymore.

I feel like someone should attack his hubris to get him to break. Offer the tongue in cheek “defense” of abject incompetence. Start going after him of being a bad doctor and an even worse scientist whose awards are all meaningless shams.
I think I just want to see him suffer more humiliation and then live out his days and have him and his family name in the completely deserved ignominy.
