I'd like to know the truth about this. Because during a discussion that Jim Jordan was having with Jake Tapper on TV recently, Tapper claims that Biden was threatening to fire someone for NOT investigating corruption. And that it had nothing to do with a prosecutor that was investigating Hunter Biden. And suprisingly, Jordan didnt challenge Tapper on this. I'd like to know the truth, I dont want to go around spewing conspiracy theories.

This played out in the Clinton impeachment as well. The media characterized it as a politically biased with hunt over Clinton's personal life. His opponents couldn't mind their own business or overcome their own conservative sexual hangups and leave this as a private matter between him and Hillary.

The truth is Clinton was not impeached for having an affair or messing around with a teenage intern. He was impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice. There was a giant pile of irrefutable evidence that Clinton directly lied several times, under oath, in a deposition, before a grand jury and in the subsequent investigation. That's a crime in every jurisdiction - perjury. That's the definition of perjury. There are people sitting in jail right now for that.

If that wasn't enough, he also (again, irrefutably) tampered with witnesses and evidence. He coached Lewinsky on what to say and do and offered her bribes to commit perjury. He set her up with a job and then lied about it. He threatened other ancillary witnesses with retribution if they didn't cooperate with his side. All of this is serious criminal stuff and actual courts will come down on you with both feet if they catch you pulling this crap. That would explain why the entire Supreme Court called in sick to his State of the Union address and why he was sanctioned, fined and disbarred by the original court of jurisdiction.

And none of this even touches on the fact that this all arose out of a pretty bad sexual harrassment claim (where was the "me too" crowd then?) that he eventually settled out of court for $850,000 - and we all know he did't write that check.

The media refused to cover that spectacle honestly. They made it all about SEX. If you supported his impeachment you were some frustrated old hag like Linda Tripp or some bible thumper who probably had skeletons of their own hiding in the closet. In fact several Republican Congressman had to resign during the Clinton impeachment when evidence of their own affairs was dug up.

To this day most people still don't know the real reason Clinton was impeached.

I'd say that the level of engagement in political discussion experienced on this board is the exception to the rule. We're the extreme. Same with the other well known and relatively well known political discussion boards out there.
