Hello, you have been permanently banned from…
I posted twice on the politics subreddit about 2 years ago. Was immediately banned. You don't get to debate anything there if you aren't on the far left. Complete echo chamber.

This could just as likely produce protracted civil war.
lol. You really have no idea how unpopular Maduro is , how pissed they are about the stolen elections, etc. There will be free elections and economic prosperity again in Venezuela. The oil will get up and running, money will flow in from The West to give them their Coca Cola and Scott’s toilet paper, those who fled will be able to come back and rebuild, the mass exodus will stop, neighboring countries will get relief etc. Venezuelans have been fantasizing about this day for two decades every single day. The regime is HATED.
Sure there will be violence because they are armed to the teeth and it’s Venezuela.

There is zero real discussion or engagement of differing political opinions on reddit.
They just immediately ban you.

I understand that he is quite unpopular.
That doesn't mean in any way whatsoever that Venezuela will unite in an outpouring of love and peace and flourishing democracy.
It is a violent, fractured, large nation filled with paramilitaries, cartels, gangs, corruption, drugs, and oil.
To completely dismiss the reality of the possibility of civil war, or at least prolonged violent instability, seems foolish.

Banned on 2 boards already. Both within 15 minutes of posting pro Free elections anti Maduro threads. They quite literally support ACTUAL dictators while screaming about “Muh Trump Dictator “.

They're Marxists, so they are taking this really hard.
And yet the Sun rises on a truly new day for millions. There are thousand upon thousands celebrating across the Latin world as we speak and every single one is expressing their gratitude to President Trump and the United States of America. They know there were thousands who never got to see another sunrise thanks to dictators like Maduro.

With her characteristic cynicism, Delcy Rodriguez, executive vice president, demands proof of life for Nicolas Maduro. They have disappeared thousands of Venezuelans! We have asked them for proof of life and they haven’t cared. This confirms that Maduro was captured just as President Trump said.

The Tucker Black Pill community is so preoccupied philosophically on the excesses of American overreach that when we have an executed 100% success with 1000 great outcomes for the U.S., Venezuela and the Free World, they will go to Auto Doom Loop. The 95% upside will be unexamined and ignored and the 5% (oh no civil war!!!!!) downside will be expressed as deep human truth.
It’s kind of a delayed psychological corrective response that’s leftover for Conservatives for supporting Iraq. It’s a form of delayed apology. Everything will now be portrayed as an Iraq-like quagmire immediately. Totally predictable. The same way it was after Vietnam. The same way they said Grenada or Panama was “ the next Vietnam”.

Maduro may be hated, but if you think the Venezuelan generals and troops are just going to sit back and let all of the above magically happen, you're hopelessly clueless.
Free elections?
What's going to more likely happen is that a general will seize control...maybe even a triumvirate...and while the export of drugs may drop off, Venezuela will continue to be a typical Latin American military dictatorship. Nothing of substance like you mentioned will happen...unless you're talking about committing thousands of US troops on the ground for years.
What are you willing to do to round up all the generals and colonels?
Rule #1 of being a dictator...always pay the military well.
By the way...one of us in this conversation has actually visited Caracas and has lived in another SA country with a history of military rule. Hell, I even know one of the grandsons of the former dictator personally.

You are absolutely correct. Your position is certainly one option. The other is that the remaining generals get together and come up with a plan for continuing military rule, and perpetuate their control with an iron fist.
