Stumbled into this passage this morning. All we can do is stand firm, and have faith in God, and trust the process.

quote:

12 Is not this what we said to you in Egypt: ‘Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.” 13 And Moses said to the people, g“Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For hthe Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”
15 The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward. 16 Lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground. 17 And lI will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they shall go in after them, and mI will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, his chariots, and his horsemen. 18 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gotten glory over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”

I've never understood the Jews that were rescued from Egypt. They saw with their own eyes the miracles from God and still complained everyday "woe is me"......never understood that.

It wasn't just the Jews. It was the whole tribe of Israel and Judah was only one.

It is the story of the Jews... bad times they would return to God... things start getting better then would turn away... The majority of the Old Testament is the story of the Jews being rescued by God, then turning away from God, being rescued, then turning away...

We have the benefit of hindsight, which is clarifying. It must have been hard to process in real time.

It's the human condition. These people were in a desert wilderness for 40 years plus. Lots of waiting around. I'm guilty of praying to get out of a certain situation, He helps me, I'm thankful beyond all, but after a couple weeks I forget and I'll complain about something else.

True but when Moses hit the rock with his staff and water came out, I'd be done complaining.

Its a human nature thing... Women who live with an abusive husband will complain bitterly and rightfully so... but when it is suggested they could do something about it.. they make excuses and crawfish back...

better the devil you know/codependency/ect...

Neither did God. Which is why he sent them off to wander for 40 years in the desert.

"Yall wanna act all dumb n stuff.... carry your arse to the desert and think about it. I'll come get you when I am ready"

Or when the mana came down from heaven... or maybe when that little sea parted... or maybe when he came down off of a mountain that had trembled terribly for days with stone tablets... or maybe when the ground opened up and swallowed an entire family (not talking 4 people here) that was complaining...

Good timing. I am working with a Jewish owned business and they are off for Sukkot for the next days.

You obviously misinterpreted what I said and the entire passage. God wants us to fight for what is righteous, but ultimately there comes a time you just have to hold the line, and put your faith in God. Sitting by would be backing down, and giving up the line.

Look at the people in this country. They don't have real things to complain about so they make them up. A land people from other countries are literally dying to get to and we have Antifa and BLM and the woke crowd demonizing it. A country that has the highest standard of living in history and the Dims have to try to destroy it. All the phony cries of racism, all the freaks wanting to be recognized and exalted. We had a free country and they are destroying it because they want everything free and no responsibilities. God Blessed America and these people damn God.

Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

I've never understood how the jews in Egypt were Jews, since monotheism isn't recorded until the 14th century BC and they claim their religion dates back to circa 1800 BC somewhere in Mesopotamia. I've also heard many say "we built the pyramids in movies and real life, when the pyramids were built around 2500 BC.

The reason they waited for 40 years was that God told them to go to one particular area and they said “frick that!” after seeing who lived there.

The 40 years was a punishment for disobeying.
