I thought this was going to be a thread about those dirty joos broadcasting the Ten Commandments on Easter Sunday every year.

Best party scene in the history of movie-making. Boy, was Moses pissed.

You realize that there are still articles being run about Obama cheating on Michelle from not only before he was president, but before he was married, right?

This should be fun...

Let's say I could run a perfect, telepathic poll in which I would ask everyone who self identifies as "on the right" or "conservative" or "Republican" whether, if Lawrence v. Texas were overturned tomorrow, they would want homosexual sodomy to carry criminal penalties, and being perfect and telepathic, I would get nothing but honest responses.

What percentage, do you think, would wish for a return of those penalties?

I'll help:

Every state in yellow still had sodomy laws on the books when Lawrence v. Texas was decided in 2003.

I would hope we've progressed a little bit

Even if law is on the books, its meaningless if it will never be enforced

A little bit? Maybe.

But in 2014, when given the opportunity to wipe an unconstitutional sodomy law off the books, Republicans in the Louisiana House voted no 55 to 3.

I'll concede that point freely. But, as far as I can tell, twelve states still have their original sodomy laws on the books: Alabama, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas and Utah. Only Montana and Virginia repealed post Lawrence.

If you don't want Louisiana as an example, Texas has apparently had a bill proposed to wipe their sodomy laws off the books in every legislative session since 2005. They have never come close to passing.

Just noticed this late edit.

You're simply wrong. It's rare, but it happens: LINK

And if it's so meaningless, why do conservative states keep voting down legislation that would get rid of those laws? It's not like I'm picking on states that have just let it lie. There are states in which repeal legislation is filed and then actively killed, over and over again.

“Donald...here hold the 10 commandments and point to the one that hurt you.”

Dude. Get out of here with your “evil” statement. Maybe ask the President to apologize to his 10 year old son. ;)

you must be gay the way this issue is triggering you

Police can arrest whoever, but if no one wants to prosecute, then can we really say its still illegal?

Oh boo fricking hiss. And here I thought we were having a productive conversation. Instead, the moment you find yourself in a corner, you resort to bullshite buzzword ad hominems. Pathetic.
