Exactly. This is why the government thinks it owns your kids and teachers in this country think they are more important than the parents. All the while, it's conservatives that foot the bill for these whackos and lazy morons.

Great point - how about $1.5 Trillion for student loans compared to $35-45 Billion a year to wipe out global food and hunger issues.

No such thing as a "free" lunch. What you're saying is that some kids' parents should only have to pay $.50 while those who live in nicer homes should pay $5. What you're requesting is a Marxist shell game whereby food costs are socialized.

Do you not understand basic economics and taxation? A school district's Nutritional Services is funded by taxes. People who live in more expensive homes pay more in property taxes than someone living in a shitty apartment. Therefore, that "free" lunch costs the wealthier homeowner more than what the meal should actually cost so that the apartment dweller can get it for less than market value. Just because the child doesn't hand the lunch lady cash doesn't mean that the meal is "free".

hell no - force parents to at least provide for their own children's dietary needs. Starve themselves if it takes that - or get another job.
Any parent who cannot take care of the most basic needs or their children (other than for unforeseen emergencies) should lose custody of those children.
And that goes all the way to social behavior - children who are not disciplined enough to live in polite society should be taken from whomever is in charge of their upbringing.

I support abortion even though I find it morally wrong in non-life threatening or rape situations. I just think it's pathetic that parents can't feed their own kids.

Children don’t ask to be born into this world. Children don’t get to choose their parents, an unfortunately, many are dealt a bad hand. Should a child suffer because his parents can’t afford to pay for school lunches?
