WUT??

Dump the Evangelical vote and the GOP is at best a third party. The E/V represents 25-30% of the vote in the US.

Go ahead and run off the E/V from the GOP, but get ready for a lunatic Prez that will make this obama fool look like Reagan.

Just think, shelia lee jackson would be head the US Senate judiciary, maxine waters is head of the Appropriations committee, elijah cummins Speaker of the House...

You think yancy and hairy weed are pathetic, just wait till someone like elijah cummins is Speaker of the House...

Not necessarily, because if you dump Evangelical votes, you can pursue independent votes more vigorously, and each independent vote is worth two evangelical votes since they also subtract from the Democrat's vote tally.

Not selecting a candidate whose platform is an extension of the evangelicals is not "dumping" them. It's simply not letting them hold the party hostage to their demands.

You know what?

Blacks are 12-13% of the population and the fricking world revolves around their concerns.

I know evangelicals are a higher percentage.

I am not religious. The double standard pisses me off.

Not really. Many will still vote Republican. At least for another generation.

There is a large portion of the democratic base that will vote for the party even though they likely agree with the evangelical wing of the Republican party on legislating morality.

You mean the low-informed voters. Dems love dem.

The 'Independent' vote is too unpredictable.

Why should the GOP dump one its most LOYAL & LARGEST voting block?

Because they won't vote Democrat, they'll vote Republican or stay home.

Kind of like the way you constantly patronize and belittle posters on this board?

The world doesn't revolve around black concerns. Progressives use blacks when it's convenient to advance some agenda. Conservatives are too lazy to reach to blacks who would listen to them, the Malcolm x republicans if you would.

These so cons muddle up the water of governance. They are really progressives in denial, the folks that would support prohibition and anti sodomy laws.

The last two GOP presidential candidates(McCain & Romney) were not exactly staunch evangelicals.

Just off the top off my head, candidates like Rick Santorum, and the former governor of ARK(can't remember his name) didn't do to well in the GOP primaries.

The GOP has thrown three presidential elections by fielding weak, 'centrist' candidates like Bob Dole, John McCain, Mitt Romney.

But like I said, if you want to run the E/V out of the GOP, get ready to be a permanet minority in the House, Senate and WH.

Get ready for trash like eric holder as a Supreme Court justice.

Maybe I'm just bad at math but you're gonna have to explain to me how having less people voting for you is gonna help you win.

Ill break it down for you.

When we finally purge those elements from the party.

People like me will return to the party in droves...you know...the ones who don't want someone else trying to decide our morals for us.
