You're mixing up NATO and the EU
Ukraine joining the EU is what started this all in 2013. They had started that process years prior and were about to effectively finish that process when Yanukovych not to sign the European Union–Ukraine Association Agreement, which is what pissed off the Ukrainian population and led to the Maidan Revolution. EU integration was very popular across all of Ukraine (including the Russian-speaking oblasts that Russia later used to justify the invasion).
Ukraine only wanted to join NATO once Russia invaded (as a result of their meddling starting in 2013 to thwart Ukraine's EU integration)

Pretty good movie but forced to do by your own country is a personal decision I guess but refusing white people into you Union so they have to go back and fight while you let Muslims in is nothing short of self destruction

Which you then claimed he must have supported Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. These two countries did in fact conscript soldiers.

So did the US. The vast majority of soldiers who served in WWII were draftees. Perhaps he wanted everyone to lose.
