Per Houston Chronicle. Behind paywall for me so no link but that's the headline.

They’re getting out of Dodge before a lynch mob is formed.

They'd probably be better off in Somolia....

They need to be sued into poverty and spend a couple decades in the pen for their utter incompetence.
Make an example out of these greedy fricks.

The same members who weren't Texas residents to begin with?

So you want to blame ERCOT?
Give me a break. They may have some culpability.
But every politician on both sides will talk about all of the above when discussing energy options. You need to have baseload fossil and nuclear power plants to meet demand regardless of weather. Renewables will never be reliant for the grid. Keep virtue signaling by investing in renewables which have to be backed up anyway.
Why not take renewable funds and reinvest to reduce poverty? How about replacing Flint, Michigan water supply piping and other inner city infrastructure? How about creating charter schools in inner cities to break the cycle of academic failure and generational poverty? Get the point? The list goes on.
So yes, maybe there were mistakes in ERCOT. But we have a major problem when the vast majority of Americans and illegals who vote don’t understand the electrical grid and pros and cons of generation options, and they put in power politicians who don’t even know as much.
Pathetic.

The way the infrastructure was set up, the gas supply was as vulnerable to weather as renewable. Coal and nuclear were more reliable because they keep a good supply of fuel at the power plants, while natural gas is on demand.
Winterizing and securing our natural gas supplies should be a national priority every bit as important as securing our power grids.

Egggggcellent. They’re about to be sued into oblivion. Especially now that Htown wants out of their grid

most of the fault of this lies with the Feds. They requested from the Feds more capacity but were told to frick off because of climate change safeguard limits.
This is solely on Joe Xiden

That is 100% incorrect.

While the denial of their request contributed to the aftermath, the initial error and cause of the coal and nuclear plant going down was ERCOT solely. They watched the grid about to overload and allowed the plants to trip. They could have shed load prior and had controlled blackouts instead of putting millions in the dark during that weather. It was incompetence at the control board in the middle of the night.

Or simply allowing more nuke plants. Enough of the toy windmills and overhyped solar farms, lol.

Today, ERCOT requested an emergency order from the U.S. Secretary of Energy (“Secretary”) pursuant to Section 202(c) of the Federal Power Act (“FPA”) due to the expected impact of the extreme cold weather event on electric demand and generator availability and the likelihood that ERCOT will need to resort to rotating outages on one or more days in the next week. The Secretary granted ERCOT’s request and issued an order finding that an electric reliability emergency exists within the State of Texas that requires intervention in order to preserve the reliability of the bulk electric power system. The order authorizes certain electric generating units located within the ERCOT interconnection to operate up to their maximum generation output in certain limited circumstances, notwithstanding federal air quality or other permit limitations. The order is effective immediately and will remain effective through Friday, February 19, 2021. A copy of the order is attached to this Market Notice.

What denial?

Fed govt denied the initial request to up electrical production and temporarily waive emission standards.

Not calling you a liar, but can you provide a link? I looked into this earlier today and all I saw was the request by ERCOT was granted the same day.

Biden admin allowed ERCOT to run 2 old coal plants each with a total output of 13mW of electricity. Net gain: 26mW. Total deficit at the time ~30,000 mW.

I think there is a shite ton of finger pointing but it’s all a clusterfrick by multiple parties.
