Probably, but i would think it doesn't matter how long, if they haven't pursued prosecution yet. If you release it all, every bit of it, and then try to prosecute, I'd imagine any case would possibly be thrown out due to tainting the jury pool?

I haven’t followed this as closely as some. But I wasn’t aware there were currently any cases being prosecuted in relation to this. G. Maxwell was the last and only I knew of.

Naw it's not that. The prosecuting body could do it, but they don't. You're giving the defendants the ability to talk to witnesses, create defenses, etc. without the rules of a formal proceeding. As long as they avoid criminal behavior (like obstruction of justice) they get a leg up on their defense. It's "revealing their hand" so to speak. A strategical choice.

This isn’t a FOIA request. They are exempt from FOIA requests. It doesn’t prejudice anyone if they were already used in another criminal proceeding. It would prejudice the DOJ if any and they are the ones wanting to release the records.
