Like the tranny sports issue, this is a loser for the democrats.

Regular Americans don't have a problem with employees having to be accountable, as they generally have to be accountable to their boss.

The idea that this is a hill that the democrats want to die on is comical.

I meet with my boss daily to discuss what I'm working on and daily objectives. That seems pretty normal for most of the people I know.

Sure, but there are also folks who don't have access to their emails after work hours and may be on vacation... So those folks should be terminated?

They have till noon today to submit.

I think the expectation of "check your email monday morning sometime within the first 4 hours of your workday and send a 5 bullet list" is not an unreasonable expectation.

Standard waiver for people on vacations, valid leave, etc...

Most people report to their boss, not the worlds richest dork and his squad of teens who look like they flunked out of school shooter training camp

Even thirty-year-old SFC's have to report to twenty-one-year-old, snot-nosed 2nd lieutenants regularly and not to the four-star who is ultimately their boss. The squad of teens, like the 2LT's, aren't the ones making the decisions. They are simply collecting the information and feeding it upstream to the higher-ups who actually do make the decisions.

Maybe it would be wise to have a bit of understanding before making such statements - unless your intention is to shriek at clouds rather than assess a situation based upon logic and reason.

Simply because the associated tweets saying "if you don't respond by the deadline we will take it as a resignation" is irresponsible.

I’d have no problem with your thoughts if it weren’t for the “independent” part. Elon is not an independent contractor. He has a conflict of interest.

So dumb. Like I said before. If you are on vacation your boss should know. You should also have an out-of-office auto reply on your email.

Elon isn't any of their bosses though. I totally get managers and chain of command asking for this info....it's hard to imagine someone else asking and then working back channels to get me fired if I don't comply.

Making you take an experimental vaccine for you to keep your job is seen as utterly and completely reasonable but asking employees to report what they did last week is somehow out of bounds?

These people are just clowns

It's meant to elicit urgency. It's a simple way to let a large group of people know to take it seriously.

There are always gonna be outliers.

No doubt. Just playing devils advocate.

I can’t imagine the stress of someone on vacation worried that a tweet will lead to them losing their job. As unlikely as it is, it’ll be in the back of your mind.

No, Trump is and he delegated the authority to DOGE. Don't like it, resign.

People getting triggered over the emails is hilarious. I guess EDS is real now too.
No, Elon isn't going to read the replies. They're rooting out fake employees and people who don't even check their email.

I saw a few posts elsewhere last month about some agencies creating fake positions and filling them with fake employees to boost their budget requirements and jobs reports.
I blew it off at the time.. that's just crazy.. Until the email thing.

Everybody I know has to report in, except the burger flippers and massively aggravating Lowe's clerks who you can never seem to find anyway (notice a trend there?).

You guys really don’t get it. Of course they should report it, however they should be reporting into their direct manager (as they most likely already do) and not some random person in another department that’s completely unrelated to their own.

Literally no other company/entity does things this way because it makes no sense and is actually less efficient.

Companies don't hire consultants and have outside audits?
