It's funny you think the government has abandoned or sold all those building that employees used to occupy.
Taxes are paying for those buildings and the people to stay home.
Then sell them and downsize.

I love Elon.
He’s wrong here. Not everyone can afford childcare for the 7 or w/e kids he has.
Can't afford child care but can afford to take that 10k dollar Disneyland trip

So you admit this is true but fail to comprehend why WFH needs to be eliminated. At the office you have a boss that can enforce consequences for such behavior. If you don't want to work at the office under a boss, start your own business

I'm about to take my dog to the vet. What a prescient bump.

As someone that works from home doing operations control I disagree.
I have to travel for 2 weeks every quarter and sometimes it’s international to Turkey. Yet I can still work on domestic priorities as I sit In the airport In Germany waiting on my connecting flight.

More than what/who and in less time than what/who?
More and less than other employees, or more and less than the same employee working from a workspace vs working from home?
All of the whiners reek of people who wish they could WFH but don't have a skillset to do so, or middle managers who don't have the requisite skillset to recognize a good worker when they have one, so they want to micromanage all their employees in the office.
People and companies have been successfully with WFH loooong before Covid.
quote:You're wrong, your "facts" are anything but.
Employees who work from home spend way more time doing things other than working than employees who work in an office. That's simple common sense. There are far fewer distractions in an office and far more supervision and accountability. That's a simple fact.
Things don't get to be facts because you want them to be, that's not how any of this works.

People in the office never ever ever ever ever do anything other than keep their head down and work the entire time they are at work....ever!!!
What people don't realize is, WFH you can probably knock that out in 1-1.5, maybe on a lunch break. If I work in the office and have to take my dog to the vet, at minimum that's a half day for me, but also possibly just taking the entire day. If I can do it and be home in just over an hour because I WFH, then I quit literally miss zero extra time of work once you factor lunch and commute.

State of Tennessee has been selling such buildings, but that government adopted WFH years ago even before covid.

We talk about homeless issue with all of these empty buildings...smh

Plus it keeps downward pressure on inflation, and it's good for the environment.

I completely disagree. There are certain jobs that 100% do not require a physical office for everyone.
Completely agree... I'm a project manager. I have no need to sit in an office onsite to do this job. I'd try to find another job if I were forced to go back in the office.

wonder how much Musk works in the office on a weekly basis?
I'll bet you $100 he's not hanging out at home though.

With automation, I think the future will be most folks being self employed. Lysander Spooner would be proud.
