At least he may be!

quote:

"If you assume any rate of improvement at all, then games will be indistinguishable from reality, or civilization will end. One of those two things will occur," Musk said. "Therefore, we are most likely in a simulation, because we exist." [13 Ways to Hunt Intelligent Aliens]

"I think most likely — this is just about probability — there are many, many simulations," he added. "You might as well call them reality, or you could call them multiverse."

"Why would you make a simulation that's boring?

This from the same interview when he was doing his Cheech and Chong thing.

Am individual calculation in a complex model may seem boring... but taken at the whole, glorious

I can understand. Anything in our life is there because we did something. I also smoke a lot, so probably explains it too.

I just find it harder & harder to believe in the God that we do. I know I can choose any faith, but I'm just happy that I'm here. I hope I do find out about my Creator & Purpose after I pass.

One way to tell...

If this seems like a stupid idea for an ad campaign, it’s either real life or a simulation using more than minimal CPU.

that's why I'm here.

1. Creator god is a myth purposed to give a sense of knowing about what is actually Mystery.

No one knows anything about creation and if some claim to they are just repeating unprovable fairy tales.

I recommend the book, the gnosticon by adi da. Detailed examination of how perception is made into "me".

The very idea of you as person is as much a myth as creator god, and the very world you see, is also.

Its not a simulation per se but mind and minds. Including the ones of LSU fans imagining victory over Aubie, Georgia and Bama. See it, feel it.

Not so ironically, I have posted this before...

Something wild to ponder...

We are living in a simulation and not in “the” original timeline

We are about to reach an inflection point in the simulated timeline where virtual timelines can be created with advanced AI development (simulating how it actually happened in the original timeline). This will allow simulations within simulations (think Inception embedded in the Matrix). These events are just the original programmers winking at us (because they literally know everything...)

Unlike the Matrix, these simulations can be opportunities for those on the original timeline to have an experience (think Westworld except that if you agree to the simulation, the stipulation is that you have no knowledge of this agreement while in the simulation). You stay in the simulation until you “die” (Vanilla Sky).

Or, the simulation is a test/game of sorts...(using the same rules above )

Alternatively, these simulations may be what it feels like to be in deep stasis while traveling the galaxy (assuming we may be hundred of thousands of years in the future ahead of this timeline).

ARE YOU LIVING IN A COMPUTER SIMULATION? BY NICK BOSTROM [Published in Philosophical Quarterly (2003) Vol. 53, No. 211, pp. 243-255. (First version: 2001" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer">

This paper argues that at least one of the following propositions is true: (1) the human species is very likely to go extinct before reaching a “posthuman” stage; (2) any posthuman civilization is extremely unlikely to run a significant number of simulations of their evolutionary history (or variations thereof); (3) we are almost certainly living in a computer simulation. It follows that the belief that there is a significant chance that we will one day become posthumans who run ancestor-simulations is false, unless we are currently living in a simulation. A number of other consequences of this result are also discussed.

quote:

A technologically mature “posthuman” civilization would have enormous computing power. Based on this empirical fact, the simulation argument shows that at least one of the following propositions is true: (1) The fraction of human- level civilizations that reach a posthuman stage is very close to zero; (2) The fraction of posthuman civilizations that are interested in running ancestor- simulations is very close to zero; (3) The fraction of all people with our kind of experiences that are living in a simulation is very close to one. If (1) is true, then we will almost certainly go extinct before reaching posthumanity. If (2) is true, then there must be a strong convergence among the courses of advanced civilizations so that virtually none contains any relatively wealthy individuals who desire to run ancestor-simulations and are free to do so. If (3) is true, then we almost certainly live in a simulation. In the dark forest of our current ignorance, it seems sensible to apportion one’s credence roughly evenly between (1), (2), and (3). Unless we are now living in a simulation, our descendants will almost certainly never run an ancestor-simulation

He discussed this specifically...whatever created the simulation has an existence more boring than the simulation. Any simulation we create will in turn be more interesting than our simulation and so on. We don’t have perspective on our own simulation.

So what else should I know then. I mean I personally believe this more than I do religion atm.

What about generations just the new and improved version.

At least thinking this way i feel better than maybe a heaven.
