Rogan asked him about "twitterizing" the federal govt and if it happened 100s of thousands of people would lose their jobs.

He said govt pensions are very very good. And besides you can pay them a year or two in severance. Give them time to be retrained, go back to school, follow their dream.

He said imagine putting 100s of thousands of very smart educated people back into your economy versus them setting regulations and policies hindering it. Its a two fold win, both for the economy and the individuals.

He is right, its not about punishing them or simply cutting costs. There are some very smart people in govt, nuclear engineers working or regs, they cold be building them instead, and there are 1000s of examples like this.

Rogan then asked him about doing away with regs and Musk said you need the guardrails but lets use a football analogy. You need refs of course, but now we have 50 of them, you cant complete a pass or run because there are so many of them on the field.

Loved that podcast, and Musk thought process.

Meh.... Elon isn't an "average" person. Totally unfair and illogical to make your comparison.

He's sugar coating the hell out of it.
Most of these gov't employee fricks will get what they deserve in the real world.

I disagree with him on this point, most are stupid.

I also think it would be impossible for some of them to function in private enterprise after working in gov sector.

He knows that. It will get the dumbasses off of the government dole and the smart ones will find success in the private sector. We all know many government jobs are held by jackasses. I want those jackasses picking apples or something else they're qualified to do.

In other threads you have shown your total ineptness to grasp basic economics....I see it applies to math as well.

Elon Musk net worth is 286 billion, but Ill grant you he made 20 billion dollars the day after the election.....suck it...that is all.

Same, that's why two years of severance is stupid. .

In other words, run the government more like a well managed business which Trump and Musk are very good at.

and get severances when they are laid off. This is pretty standard practice for salaried employees at larger corporations.

Most people do not get severances when laid off. Certainly not years.

Layoff in increments, give short severance (two months at most)

Two years severance is beyond ridiculous.
