I am not for it at all and itll never pass but if it did and my $150,000 in loans went to $100k I'm not going to cry about it.
EDIT: my dumbass read over the making less than 100k, well frick guess I'll just keep paying it off. Good think I majored in something useful instead of fricking gender studies or philosophy.

It's going to happen, so you might as well save your sky-screams.

would the proposed student loan forgiveness and proposed changes be a net positive or net negative for this country?
Net negative. I can see reducing the interest rates or something, but just poofing 640 billion dollars seems dumb.

But why?
BMY knows the answer and it is very simple.
A American making 240,000 deserves to have the money they borrowed paid back by their fellow Americans and those making 250,000 just don't.
See.

So I think I've found one of your three liberal positions you're always asking for.
Canceling student debt: a single big-government action that results in less long-term government dependence.
You almost had one there.

Slave, you need no political voice. If you disagree with how your money is spent, die racist.

bullshite. You may think this but it just isn’t true.
The left does nothing that results in a net decrease in dependence.
Hell dependency is what they base their entire playbook on. Socialism is nothing but government dependency

The true reality check: it fricks over everybody who’s done the right thing and paid back the money they borrowed. To anyone with any sort of a moral compass, that’s as plain as day. Says quite a bit about you that it’s not.
Unless, of course, you’re advocating that he should get that money back? Or is he just shite out of luck?

Who’s more dependent on the government: somebody who’s $200,000 in the hole or somebody who’s in the black?

Who is more dependent on the government:
Somebody with 200k debt that works hard and pays their debit responsibly or the person who sells their soul to the government for the illusion that the government no longer owns them.

In no way, shape, or form is canceling student debt a conservative or small government approach.

quote:Didn’t say it was, but if you take off your feeling cap and put on your thinking cap, you’ll see that less government dependence is better than more government dependence, and if a single “liberal” act gives us the better result (ie, less government dependence), and the “conservative” approach gives us the worse of two, then maybe “liberal” and “conservative” aren’t a black/white binary.

Either way you look at it, the money will not be repaid. That money is gone. Now, as for the people who currently owe that money: do we want them to be serfs who spend the rest of their lives sucking at the government teat because reasons?, or do we want a situation where these otherwise capable people are in a position to contribute to an economy that needs contributors in order to stay viable?

BRB going to take out massive student loans really quick and report my personal income as $99K
Posted on 7/23/19 at 3:07 pm to xiv
Please explain how they will be “dependent” on govt?
Govt program eligibility is based on income, not wealth

Awesome news. Can you call my bank for me(I owe them a lot for unreasonable loan debt) and tell them I want it cancelled so I can get less long term bank dependence too please.
