Unless an elephant is fricking up your village and killing people, I think you have to be a pretty monstrous dickhead to shoot one. They have funerals for frick's sake. A very spiritual and wonderful animal.

I'm pretty Libertarian and generally happy with less/no government regulation. Still, like I said...I kinda like elephants.

So you’re a libertarian only when it suits you. Kinda like libertarians who think the government needs to stay out of everyone’s business unless your business is a bar and you don’t want to be around smokers.

Yeah, because apparently my dick isn't small enough that I have to go out and kill something as majestic as an elephant.

I'll be the first to admit that I can't check all the boxes for one specific ideology. So if you're asking me if I only want a government that suits my agenda, then the answer is yes.

It’s Happened AGAIN: Trophy Hunter Killed While Trying to Kill Lion During Canned Hunt

There's apparently a trophy hunter serial killer on the loose. I wish there was a way to make a donation to his cause.

Hunting bans lead to extinctions. Give the Africans opportunities to make legit money (not illegal hunting on preserves) and there will be more fricking elephants running around than they would know what to do with.

Translation. I don't support it personally, but it's not my place to tell a woman what to do with her body.

I've yet to meet a liberal that personally supports abortion, yet they fight like tigers to keep it legal. Odd

You couldn't be more wrong. And what's this obsession with people here labeling every dissenting poster a liberal? It's no more or less offensive to me than conservative.

Wildlife conservation and management, like guns, is another issue liberals are completely lost on.

There is one sure way to ensure a species NEVER goes extinct, NEVER loses its natural habitat, and NEVER suffers from starvation, overpopulation, or poaching....

Well regulated, legal hunting. Boom mutha frickaz

Do people know elephant society? I know this sounds like tree hugger shite, but it’s not like hunting down a lion. You kill the lion, another lion will come in and take over the pride and kill the young. That’s inevitable regardless so while I think it’s dickish to hunt down a lion, I don’t find it monstrous. The lions aren’t going to care in a few weeks and they won’t lose a beat in the grand scheme of things.

I do find it monstrous to hunt down an elephant. You might as well make gorilla and chimp hunting legal. I can understand if a rogue bull is going out of control and fricking up a village and shooting it, but elephants have some of the most complex societies and minds of any animal outside of humans. You shoot the matriarch of these heards, they’re psychologically lost and devistated for months or years. They’re probably not going to take kindly screwing with any of their corpses either. It’s just like an alien coming in, shooting grandma, and then posing with her while the family has no idea what to do. It’s simply cruel to hunt these animals and frick anyone who does.

Pretty sure that those hunts actually help out the villages near them. They’re expensive as hell to get a tag for, helps the economy, brings up tourism, the villages where the elephant is killed has a huge feast and everybody eats.

It’s not as abhorrent as you think.

uh this might be one of the most fricked up, stupidest statements i have ever seen posted on here.

how in the frick does a herd animal adapt to 'today's world' of high powered rifles.

It is in a hunters best interest to understand and preserve the herd, so yes. Besides, governments employ wildlife biologists, game rangers, and ecological scientists to set sustainable parameters for legal hunting.

The hunters fund the ever living frick out conservation. Ever been to a ducks unlimited function?

My aunt married the grandson of the founder, so yeah, quite a few of them. I’m 100% confident he’s never shot an elephant though (nor would he want to). He’s called lion hunters a bunch of pencil dicked pussies to me before.
