Why should he issue a rebuttal? You've all but said you're fine with letting someone else decide for you, anyway.

He's terrible because he lacks the ability to campaign. Seriously, i heard a few radio adds 2 or 3 months ago, since then it's been silence. And Rispone is NOT going to win. His adds come off as a spoof.

JBE WILL get re-elected...and all of our taxes will go up...AGAIN. Thanks again, idiots. Can't run a single good candidate for the R's in this cycle?

Ralph Abraham has said that he doesn't care about getting re-elected. Said his only goal was turning this state around in the right direction. Has said if elected he will open the books on every level of state government and agency and see where we can cut state government spending to get the government off the backs of private sector tax payers..... Yea that sob has got my entire family's vote

Is that better or worse than calling him Jindal?

Seriously, this is right out of the Dem play book. Surely the Dems can do better than this?

I don't follow the Democrats playbook because I'm a Republican but I don't like inarticulate imbeciles representing our state and this guy comes across as bible thumping backwoods nitwit. I wouldn't buy a used car from this businessman hack. Hopefully Abrams is more polished otherwise we will stuck with JBE for another 4 years because the stupid Louisiana Republican's couldn't find a quality candidate once again.

We shouldn't have to hope he "has problems". We should be able to run a candidate that can win on their own.

Rispone has openly said on multiple occasions that God has spoken to him and has told him to “save the children” with his school choice program.

Ughhhhhh I hadn't heard that quote.

There's nothing wrong with buying an election.

Of course Rispone’s trying to buy the election. Money is the thing he has in the largest quantities; in fact, he has more of it than anybody else in the race. Rispone’s latest campaign finance report showed him with $9.8 million in the bank, which was slightly more than Edwards’ $9.6 million, and Rispone has a deep vault of personal money he can tap into if he needs more.

Why wouldn’t he try to buy the election? And what’s wrong with that?

The thing is, trying to buy the election and actually buying it aren’t the same thing. Louisiana’s voters have to decide whether they’ll buy Rispone in order for a sale to be made.

And the thing is that tying yourself to Trump is something that will never ever go wrong in Louisiana as this state loves the hell out of him and Louisiana needs someone with the business pedigree of Trump to move this state forward into the 21st century.

Look what happened to Hillary.

You're actually supporting my point.

Trump didn't win because of the anti-Hillary vote. He won because he gave conservatives a reason to go vote. He ran up the totals in rural counties to a degree the pollsters weren't expecting because they wanted to vote for him. He got strong midwest turnout from talking about bringing jobs back.

Hillary staked her campaign on the anti-Trump vote. Liberals weren't excited to vote for her and not enough of them bothered to vote.

It's illustrative of the need for a positive theory of a candidate.

Edwards has a case of there aren't the budget issues that we saw under the last GOPer and he's a good Christian who backs your positions on social issues.

His opponent needs a narrative to say why they'd be better than him, won't let them be tied to the failings of Jindal and define themselves as a candidate before the Edwards team defines them as another Jindal. Get the GOP voters out and you win in LA, if not they'll just vote for the guy they know or just not bother.

I wish we would go to all voucher funding on schools in Louisiana.

There is too much of our taxpayer money wasted between the taxpayers and the classroom.

Lets give vouchers for what we spend to every family and let them decide where to use it. If local governments still want to operate schools let them but we really need to have incentives for teachers and other in educations to open new schools or have the freedom to run the ones they are in better.

No one can really believe we should funnel our tax dollars through the layers of bureaucracy we have and then say to a family you HAVE to use this school or that school and then say to a teacher we don't have the money to pay you properly.

I 100% support school choice and Rispone is school choice advocate. (What the opponents of school choice really hate is that where choice exists it is very popular with the citizens.)

Where the school choice people get a bad name, is that many of them don't favor any sort of accountability standards for the schools. I don't want my tax dollars going to some school that teaches via dvds and doesn't teach actual science.

Roy Moore is a batshit crazy career politician that has never had a real job in his life.

Eddie Rispone is a self made multi millionaire self funding his campaign with frick you money after he built a successful construction business on his own talents, hard work and knowledge. And he was a big donor in GOP circles.

Moore couldn't hold Rispone's jock strap.

What about your tax dollars going to government schools that hardly teach anything? How much money do you want going to the St. Helena Parish school district that is the worst in the state and the state is ranked 49th in the country?

The good thing about private schools that don't teach to the their customer's expectations---they close.
