Wow, the Biden economy is on fire! A whopping 49K jobs. Can you imagine the headlines and venom if this had been a POTUS Trump jobs report?!?!

LINK /

Nonfarm payrolls increased by 49,000 from the prior month after a downwardly revised 227,000 December decrease, while the unemployment rate fell to 6.3%, according to a Labor Department report Friday. The labor force participation rate declined as more people left the workforce.

Yeap, they left the workforce to stay home and wait for government handouts or were forced to stay home because their businesses are shuttered and they don't have access to their jobs.

All in all, splendid news from 46!

And I'm sure the unemployment rate dropped due to all this printed money handouts. Why participate in the job market?

Supply and demand. Threatening a minimum wage increase has an effect on hiring.

So does laying off pipeline workers and enacting policy that will shift more jobs overseas.

Back around 1982 I was working on a job in Williamson, West Virginia. I had to drive over the Tug Fork River bridge to South Williamson in Kentucky to eat lunch. I asked locals why was all the new development in South Williamson? They told me that the unemployment benefits in WV were greater than what people were making in the restaurants and grocery stores in Kentucky. So businesses relocated across the Tug Fork in able to hire employees.

So surprise, surprise human behavior hasn't changed in 40 years. Free money beats working for it.

“Gaining 49,000 jobs” is effectively losing 120,000-150,000 jobs.

So after 4 years, now we'll officially transfer from "This is Obama's economy" to the predictably dismal economy that will be "Trump's economy"

I’m waiting for Joe Biden to start blaming the current President’s ineptitude and apathy for the current state of the economy and the uptick in Corona virus deaths.

I remember during the GWB years Bush would get bashed by the media for any jobs number under 150K. 150K is required to keep up with population growth.

I'm sure 49K under Biden is a unicorn level jobs report.

Some of us don't want to become dependent on the government. It gives them too much control over your life. A government big enough to give you everything is also big enough to take everything away. Big tech is already suppressing voices, wait til the government does it. But don't kid yourself, people will be expected to work..for the government in a planned economy like the Soviet Union.

Do not trade your freedom for security. It never works that way.

Black unemployment will never be as low as it was under Trump.

They voted for this. They prefer this.

I still have my job and where I live, I go out to eat, shop, and hike in the woods. I can go to basketball games and the movie theater. Maybe you have huddled in fear, I haven't.
