If Trump was anyone else (especially a Democrat), this would be lauded as a needed update/replacement to an outdated 83 year old addition to the White House.

Just wait until the West Wing rebuild. Both are necessary for the modern age. It's embarrassing that we have international events in an OM tailgate tent

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

(That's my impersonation of the screeching harpies acting like they cared about the East Wing before Trump 'assaulted' it.

Yeah i have a friend who is in meltdown. When I asked about other presidents and their renovations they said 'they added something they didn't tear it down'. I guess adding a ballroom isn't adding something.

Ahhhhh the East Wing. So dear to the American heart that they made a night time drama out of it. Americans loved it; it won multiple Emmy's; it ran for years; and showed the American public the challenges of governing a great nation while telling the personal stories of the people that run our government.

This is a silly thread. Look, I hate the left as much as anyone, but yeah, that's what it's called. Because that's where the first lady works. It's been like that a long time. They're crying for no real reason of course, but there isn't anything incorrect in what they're saying there.

I'm talking about how it's referred to. Not as to what it is.

I’m beginning to not care if the British come back and burn the whole thing down again.

It literally was just the tour intake center and a hallway leading you into the building. The White House movie theater was in it, but that’s about it.
You are mistaken.

During Bush-41, a friend of mine worked in the East Wing for Barbara, and I visited several times. The building was full of offices.

And it will still be full of offices after the renovation. It will simply hold offices AND a ballroom.
