These people do realize that for the most part deserts form because of local weather and geographic phenomenon that reduce the amount of moisture getting to a specific area? this isn't Tatooine with its dual suns. But then again I suppose that leftists who simultaneously advocate for crossdressers and climate alarmism aren't actually concerned with real science.

This is the type of fear mongering headlines that I despise from the media

The land in which they are talking about becoming a desert is already "dryland", but would move slightly farther in the aridity index and become desert

but Newsweek is full of hacks and goes full fear mongering, and of course, retards run around on both sides and lose their damn minds

Maybe read the actual study and not the Newsweek hack job

BHP to the rescue!

8% less desertification! Warmer is better than cold. I hope we are adding to global warming, but I fear we are not.

The funny thing about how idiotic this article is and shows that they haven’t done any fricking research is that even though the US dropped out of the Paris Climate Accord we are still participating in the goals that we set within the accord! We are continuing to follow through on our promises of lowering our output of CO2.

No, one side runs around losing its mind, the Left. Why can't you just admit that? Why do you have to take a shot at the right? They aren't going to be out protesting and wailing about our imminent doom because of this.

More than 25 percent of Earth will experience serious drought and desertification by the year 2050 if the attempts made by the Paris climate agreement to curb global warming are not met, according to a new study by the journal Nature Climate Change.

We're going to easily meet and surpass every standard laid out by the Paris agreement.

Yes. The Right absolutely loses its mind because they only use these fear mongering articles from hack sites like Newsweek to justify their beliefs.

It is all pure hackery and I despise it.

And thanks to Trump, we don't have to pay other countries for it.

Why wouldn't the right use the Newsweek article? It's not like Newsweek had a gun to their head, forcing them to fearmonger. Newsweek is basically the same as every other liberal outlet. They twist and distort and spin, in order to get emotional outbursts from their readers/viewers.

At this stage, Newsweek and their ilk are nothing more than tabloids.

The right isn't going to lose their mind, they're going to laugh at it and ridicule it. Big difference from running around the streets claiming imminent death if we don't fork over tons of cash.
