WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

quote:

Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) announced Thursday that she would block the promotions of 1,123 senior military officers until Defense Secretary Mark Esper promises that he will promote Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who is believed to have communicated with the “whistleblower” that sparked Trump’s impeachment.

So you will remember who we are talking about:

quote:

Duckworth’s office said her decision was based in part on Trump’s threats to use active-duty forces to quell “peaceful civilian protests,” using Esper and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley in a “photo op,” and deploying military helicopters to “intimidate American civilians.”

It's been announced she is also up for VP

She’s basing her decision on a lie.

Well, since, according to Senator Braun, the Republican party actually works to appease Chuck Schumer and do his bidding. So that's probably how she does it.

Sounds like either quid pro quo or extortion.

Does this make any sense whatsoever under ethical consideration.

Vindman is an embarrassment to the US Army.

The article doesn't even explain how she has power to block it or if it's just lip service with no real power

Vindman was fired/relieved of duty. Would that not have merited an adverse fitness report and made him non-promotable? In the Corps, that would have been end of career.

Filibuster

I don't think it would last very long because it's a political minefield. Half of those promos are new PCS assignments, so not only a salary raise, but a COLA raise, and BAH.

They did this to every Navy and Marine Corps aviator during the tailhook scandal. Whether they attended the conference or not.

Shameless bitch. IDGAF if she's a disabled veteran. This is a partisan political stab in the back.

Vindman was already awaiting orders for PCS. He was already out at the NSC. He's being sent to War College at Carlisle.

My understanding is that the troops already hate her over her horrible run as head of the VA.

Want the military to get involved in elections? Make this bitch VP with a high likelihood of getting the big chair soon.

Can't they send him to Afghanistan instead?
