Well I wish employers would feel this way.

That’s a shame. You should keep records of everything and sue your employer if they terminate you for not taking a vaccine.

The vaccine isn’t FDA approved and they don’t know your medical history in regards to allergies or medical history that would prevent you from getting a vaccine.

Well, I did that earlier in the week with a post from a pulmonologist at the Baton Rouge General. It got 264 downvotes and the doc was called every name in the book for sharing his info.

I know you like and trust direct info......but simply put, a lot here do not. Crazy stuff

I haven't had covid that I know of and was given a 30day termination notice due to not being vaxed. My boss was then able to rescind that when the facility dropped that part of her contract when they realized that 1) they couldn't find replacements for my position and 2) that they couldn't mandate ONLY ME and no one else to take it.
They've decided that was can indeed continue telemed so yeah I guess?

What bothers me is that our 20 yo HAD covid and is being mandated to take the vaccine if she wishes to continue her internship at St. Jude. I get what St. Jude does and support them financially and can somewhat understand it given their patient population. That said, I don't necessarily get mandating it for those who have had covid .. especially considering that there CAN be breakthroughs in the vaccinated BUT I haven't heard of those who HAD it getting it again!

It is what it is.

That's everywhere. I'm not vaccinated at this point and before anyone starts yelling at me, I'm 52 and do not have one comorbidity other than my age. Nothing. I realize that this doesn't mean squat to many but I can say my bp, my bmi, everything is fine ... HCP and I discussed and I came to the conclusion to just wait a bit. I have never said never like many but am open to info and that's why I at least try to ask and learn.

So thanks for answering so many questions.

EDIT .. Vit D levels are great as well.

19 deaths?

Yeah, we'd better shut it down before it gets to some crazy number like 25.

90 percent of the 1008 people currently hospitalized in Louisiana with Covid 19 are not fully vaccinated) (yes, that means 100 were fully vaccinated

Check your math.

BTW, are you in an office or hospital setting? I'm sure you've alluded to it but so many posts to go through to find it ...

That # has never been addressed! It’s as if having the virus has no impact on the “herd immunity.” They forget to talk about those numbers unless it is related to hyping the spread.

But to not be happy that we probably have and end in sight to all this bullshite is mind boggling

But we do not have an end in sight.
We have the threat of lock downs looming.
We have pressure and threats of force to get the shot.
We have evidence leaking out that the vaccine is only partially and temporarily effective.
And we have to endure a constant barrage of communist propaganda that "we're all going to die" from a freaking COLD VIRUS!

I haven't had one day off from work this whole time, I'm considered essential. I've engaged in very risky behavior according to the experts, and I haven't had any symptoms.

I need to get the shot to save those who are already vaccinated?

HOW MANY OF THE 90% ALREADY HAD COVID!

Sorry for yelling, but that's the number we need to know.

It has to be a low number because Cleveland Clinic just recently had study showing you were good to go at 10 months out from infection (I don’t know if they included Delta variant in that)

Good news: Mild COVID-19 induces lasting antibody protection
People who have had mild illness develop antibody-producing cells that can last lifetime

by Tamara Bhandari•May 24, 2021

excerpt:

“Last fall, there were reports that antibodies wane quickly after infection with the virus that causes COVID-19, and mainstream media interpreted that to mean that immunity was not long-lived,” said senior author Ali Ellebedy, PhD, an associate professor of pathology & immunology, of medicine and of molecular microbiology. “But that’s a misinterpretation of the data. It’s normal for antibody levels to go down after acute infection, but they don’t go down to zero; they plateau. Here, we found antibody-producing cells in people 11 months after first symptoms. These cells will live and produce antibodies for the rest of people’s lives. That’s strong evidence for long-lasting immunity.”

During a viral infection, antibody-producing immune cells rapidly multiply and circulate in the blood, driving antibody levels sky-high. Once the infection is resolved, most such cells die off, and blood antibody levels drop. A small population of antibody-producing cells, called long-lived plasma cells, migrate to the bone marrow and settle in, where they continually secrete low levels of antibodies into the bloodstream to help guard against another encounter with the virus.

The key to figuring out whether COVID-19 leads to long-lasting antibody protection, Ellebedy realized, lies in the bone marrow.

As expected, antibody levels in the blood of the COVID-19 participants dropped quickly in the first few months after infection and then mostly leveled off, with some antibodies detectable even 11 months after infection. Further, 15 of the 19 bone marrow samples from people who had had COVID-19 contained antibody-producing cells specifically targeting the virus that causes COVID-19. Such cells could still be found four months later in the five people who came back to provide a second bone-marrow sample. None of the 11 people who had never had COVID-19 had such antibody-producing cells in their bone marrow.

“People with mild cases of COVID-19 clear the virus from their bodies two to three weeks after infection, so there would be no virus driving an active immune response seven or 11 months after infection,” Ellebedy said. “These cells are not dividing. They are quiescent, just sitting in the bone marrow and secreting antibodies. They have been doing that ever since the infection resolved, and they will continue doing that indefinitely.”
