I’ve been saying he needs to run for months and has the greatest chance of success of all Republican candidates .

Any chance Cassidy pulls out of Republican primary and runs as a Democrat? Or does LA have a weird jungle where there are no primaries? I haven’t voted in LA since I was around 20 years old.
Thanks to Team Landry, Louisiana is going back to Party Primaries.
Not sure if we will go crazy with 4 elections each cycle: Party Primary, Party Run Off if necessary, General Election with independents, and General Election Run Off, if necessary in December. I don't think you could jump ship between a primary loss and the General. You had to file for candidacy during qualifying for all the elections at once so you could lose your primary and say you were running as an independent. Party Primary was in late August, late September was the Pary Run Off if necessary, and General Election was the usual Tuesday election day in November, Run offs were in early December.
That was how it was in 2010 when Landry was elected to Congress, if I am not mistaken.
After that marathon of elections, they switched back to the jungle primary in the General and run off in December if necessary.
Some one should remind Jeff that each time you hold a statewide election that is more government spending. Also, the legislature should prohibit constitutional amendments in off year elections and runoff elections.
There shouldn’t be a ballot measure in March, no one except the city of New Orleans has anything meaningful on the ballot.

This makes me wanna move back to LA and vote for Dr. Fleming.

Not overly thrilled about sending another 76 year old to the Senate but if this is who I'm given to go up against Cassidy, he'll get my vote.

Gotta wonder if Cassidy and his people don’t surreptitiously encourage a South La. Trump firebrand to run to dilute and split the anti-Cassidy vote.
Higgins is probably (hopefully at this point) too savvy to see the chess board and would decline, but does Blake Miguez? We know cousin Xan will be in the race getting his 1500 votes. Landry isn’t making the move yet. Graves is milquetoast and aligned with Cassidy so he’s out. Elbert Guillory will get his 250 votes.
It feels like I’m missing someone though.

He’s gotta see the writing on the wall.

I wonder if Graves will run ? Don't think he is a good candidate. Who else would have enough name recognition and a good MAGA resume ? Not sure Fleming or Graves are the best we can do. Although both better than Cassidy. Don't want Nunngeser. Need a young, smart, well spoken candidate

Tell me you known nothing of Louisiana politics without saying you know nothing about Louisiana politics.
The last elected Louisiana governor from North Louisiana was Buddy Roemer in 1988. 36 years ago.
Brush up on your Louisiana history.

Louisiana doesn't do MAGA. They do RINO and incumbent.

He would be a HUGE upgrade. frick that RINO Cassidy. Wonder if he will switch back to being a Democrat and take his chances in the GE, or does Bobby Boucher expect that spot?

One can only hope.

All my years, I've only given money to Trump on his recent campaign. I will do so for a second time for Fleming. I hate Cassidy with the heat of a thousand suns

I think Nungesser stays LT governor until Landry gets plucked for a cabinet seat or finishes his 2 terms, but he may be too old by that time to want any other position than LT governor. That is probably the sweetest gig in the state. You go around promoting LA tourism, open a few new facilities at some state parks and museums, travel the country for conferences, fairs, and parades. You play acting governor when the governor is out of state.

What’s does 1988 have to do with the current state of politics my friend. As I pointed out he will be backed by the state Republican Party and its money. He has won STATEWIDE election as recent as last year. He has the backing of the speaker of the house, and not to mention president trump will back him. What the hell are you talking about .

In the Primary we need to make sure that we push Cassidy out. We need to make a stance as a state of what we want and need to represent Louisiana!
