re: Don't let Democrats memory hole Charlie

You dont understand that liberals were happy he was shot and everybody saw it. The veil dropped. There's no going back.

And those same people won't remember him in a generation, either.
People who are attuned to politics tend to think that everyone in America is attuned to politics. They aren't. I would be surprised in one American in four could name both the VP and the Secretary of State.
In thirty years, they certainly are not going to remember a political pundit, no matter how he died. Sorry.

Precisely, and that is perhaps your Achilles Heel, you have no perspective. Charlie was not a political pundit, no matter how many times you drivel on in the darkness of your blue haired corner of the world.
Charlie cared about the youth of this nation and the world. He had a message to share, and the youth wanted to hear it. You might not believe he was genuine, but I most certainly do. Many millions do. Enough to garner having a space at the White House named in his honor, I believe so, but that's not up to me. Might suit you better if it's named the Trump Ballroom.

We disagree on what society as a whole will likely remember thirty years from now, and you automatically put me into your "Far Left" pigeonhole, because YOU idolize the guy and are convinced that everyone in the country feels the same way.
Do you ever stop to consider how very foolish that is?
quote:I suspect that I am exposed on a daily basis to a far broader cross-section of American society than you are. I mean no offense by that. Each of us lives where he lives, works where he works, does what he does, and interacts with those around him.
your Achilles Heel, you have no perspective.
I simply suspect (strongly) that you live a life in which you interact with people largely like yourself, in an overwhelming percentage.

Trump really should name the new addition as the Charlie Kirk Ballroom.

This is literally how some of these folks see the guy. An honest-to-God saint.
In their view, Teddy Roosevelt and Thomas Payne are actually less deserving for recognition by the US government than he.

I think you proved the OP's point. You have posted SEVEN times-a significant amount of your entire posting history-with indecent mocking memes even-to tell us you and others don't care about this minor historical figure. Personally, I think if you post even more derisively with even more insulting memes, maybe a dozen more times, you'll convince yourself.

Please link any post in which I "mock" Kirk. I didn't. In fact, I did the opposite, saying that I think I would probably have liked him, had I met him. What I DID was post an example of artwork created by a Kirk fan, to show how some people view him.
That aside, please link anywhere that I said I "don't care" about him. I didn't. I just said that few will remember him a generation from now, because most Americans are not politically engaged. Do you see the difference?

It was crystal clear that not everyone in the country feels the same way by how they went out of their way to not only condone his murder, but to celebrate it. The people on the left who said nothing spoke volumes, as well. Meanwhile, these same people idolize the likes of George Floyd and the Maryland dad.

Eight times.
Show us how nobody really cares about something by manic posting about it. Excellent strategy. I think it’s going to pay off for you.
Politically engaged and culturally-literate people will certainly know all about it a generation from now, as it is the most culturally relevant domestic assassination of this century. And because it will always be a reminder of the way the Left utilizes political violence- relentlessly since the French Revolution- against the opposition. It was a much bigger event and will reverberate far longer than you’d like to admit. It was a watershed moment in our culture and if things ever do get hot- as many predict, it will be a rallying cry. The image of what the Left would love to do to us is seared into the memory of every Conservative/ Republican/Normal, your protests aside.
Now let’s see if you can make it nine posts.

I will never really get over it …. It is one of the darkest and most culturally significant murders in American history on par with MLK and JFK
I thought it was histrionic when I first saw it, but on reflection it explains a lot. This murder clearly affected you deeply. You have my condolences.

The relevant question is why it didn’t affect you.

But I do not question that it did affect you. Hell, you can’t even seem to process the actual words that I wrote, as opposed to the words that you want to see.
Again, my condolences, and I hope that you recover in time.

In time for what? What is there to recover from? We aren’t “ recovering “ we are remembering WHO you guys are. We just note your barely concealed MURDER GLEE and we file it away . And it does make us sad, - for what it says about you- and to the degree that you have normalized murder and use it to taunt people as you are doing on this thread. It’s spiritually bankrupt. Our sadness is for you.

Couldn't that happen no matter what Trump names it?
