Between the number of feds that just need to move on and retire and new feds whose careers have barely started, Trump will easily hit his 10% number. There will be restructuring and the bad elements will be purged.

That’s the problem. “Last in, first out” doesn’t make sense. It’s the old farts who have been around for 20+ years who can’t be fired and refuse to show up and do anything that need to go. They’ve got so much PTO and sick leave built up that they barely even show up anyway.

Most of the sorry workers I’ve encountered are the ones who never had a job in the real world and have no idea how things are actually supposed to work. Literally straight out of college into the federal workforce. They need to go as well.

I believe that there are many old timers that need to go. DOGE is trying to get them to self deport.

But if that's not enough, then you kind of have to go with some version of last in, first out. I know there's like 2 or 3 years until you're vested or something like that. And if those older employees are bargaining employees, then the AFGE would raise some hell.

I know some non bargaining supervisors and their bargaining employees are freaking the frick out.

Look up the regulations on the RIF process.

It's a balancing act. You want those who can retire to retire, but you also want to retain seasoned workers because you don't want an entire brain drain to occur.

What's going to stop the hackers?

The same thing that stopped them before? Types of AI have been used in network security for years to look for potential threats and lock down the system.

It seems a lot of people don't actually understand how AI is used in business. It's not this superadmin program that can do whatever it wants. It's not even the "full" versions of the AI the public can access. They are trained to do specific tasks.

The AI Elon is talking about is most likely the equivalent of a very fast and accurate financial auditor. The AI will not be able to make important decisions, change policy, or 99% of the other nefarious actions people think it will.

It reminds me of all the people who didn't understand software freaking out over Y2K.

We found people to do the jobs that the illegals were doing.
