re: DOGE finds no payments were ever disapproved in the entire careers of those in charge

That’s fine. Elon is probably not the person to do this because of his conflicts.
Is Elon really doing it? He isn’t. It’s just the bogeyman that retards like you had to invent to make chasing government waste and fraud a bad thing.
Also, this is very different than your post to which I responded to which pretended Treasury had every dollar explicitly appropriated by Congress.
quote:
If they start turning off payments that ARE explicitly appropriated then we have an immediate constitutional crisis
It’s not immediately a crisis. That’s just another loaded word to demonize chasing waste and fraud. It is a constitutional question.
Elon is, like most billionaires, an “autistic” megalomaniac. I don’t worship him. But I bet he isn’t doing 10% of what the press is pretending he’s doing.

They likely did not want to give DOGE access to their audits because the probably never did any audits. Their mindset was very likely that an audit did not matter because they were sending payments out that others "approved". Just like the Pentagon and all of federal govt, CONGRESS has failed the people. CONGRESS failed to do its job if holding the bureaucrats accountable.

I mean he is down there running the show so yeah

And i would say you’re using “cutting waste” as cover for things of questionable legality.

If that were to happen, and that’s a big if i will concede, the it absolutely would be an immediate constitutional crisis. Hand waving away the clear separating of powers and SCOTUS precedent is bizarre. Again if you want to overturn Train then go to SCOTUS

Y’all love to sue. Sue.

It would depend on what it was. Don’t get all female on me. If Elon went to people’s mailbox and stole their SNAP check, that would be a constitutional crisis. If more checks were instituted to verify people’s eligibility for snap, that would not be a crisis. Even though you would pretend it was.

Hell of a cover. This guy will be living on a yacht off the Riviera next year with his girlfriend.

it would somewhat depend on the specific circumstances. i’m willing to wait and see.

caring about the constitution is female?

You don’t “care about the Constitution.”

That was my thought as well. But it doesn't seem to be the case. He lives modestly in a $690K 1,302 SqFt Townhouse in Falls Church Va. His wife teaches English at Thomas Jefferson High School.
But now that he resisted and is trying to cover up he will now be handed the Democratic Loyalty honor of a $5M book deal or a Professorship, with tenor, at an Ivy League school of his choice. That is how they pay back loyalists.

You’re appealing to the Constitution because of your ideology.
Was Biden extending the eviction moratorium a Constitutional Crisis?

We may not agree on everything but my “ideology” is not what you think it is. I’m trying to have a good faith conversation with you. If you’re not interested in that then tell me now.

This is more akin to the birthright citizenship EO, which is going through the proper channels right now.
Surely you can see the difference between those two actions and what we’re talking about here.

Of course I can see the difference. Biden’s moratorium directly flouted the Constitution. This is whining about looking at records.
Added for clarity: extension of the moratorium.

That’s what I want DOGE to do. Sounds like they are off to a great start.
Posted on 2/1/25 at 9:49 am to the808bass
right no different than the birthright EO is directly at odds with the plain text of the constitution.
both of those are going through the proper channels though and aren’t some tech bro with a shitload if conflict of interests camping out and taking over the payment systems.

Musk and Doge are camped out at OMB and Treasury and are injecting themselves into what has been non partisan sort of boring payment systems where it’s just the people who put the button based on what the appropriations bill says. Aside from the huge conflict of interests there’s also the question of clearance (witness protection payments, for example) for doge not to mention they can now simply turn off the payments for things appropriated by Congress if they choose. While that hasn’t happened yet as far as we know, it’s a questionable move at best and deserving of scrutiny.

then you claim to have some kind of moral superiority over liberals who do the same.
