Not saying an individual could not own those in some sort of collection, but I am saying that he should be open to inspection, interview, psyche profiling, and tracking.
To what end? Who controls this? What will it achieve? Do you think it would have prevented this incident? Others?

Why do you care how many I own?

If someone owns 50 ar15s, chances are; they are all stored properly.

Kinda got buried at the bottom of the last page. Not badgering, but I'd like your thoughts...

I retract my statement.I am pro bump fire. The purpose of the 2nd Amendment is to wage war on the government if they get crazy.

If...could...might...if....maybe...
Cool story. Have any useful examples?

Was he exhibiting signs of psychological instability?
Would he have subjected himself to extra scrutiny, if such applied, as the number of guns he possessed increased?
Would he have subjected himself to extra scrutiny, if such applied, as the amount of ammo he possessed increased?
Maybe, maybe not.

Out of these guns, which one can go through type 2 body armor with ease?

If that were true... there wouldn't be so many stolen, illegal guns on the street, in the hands of criminals.

A couple of thugs broke into a local Cabela's this summer and stole about 50 guns. Cabella's is not a soft target. OTOH, your home might be.

I promise you stolen guns don't come from collectors. They come f on Joe blow down the road with 2 guns.

ATF
The ATF is going to handle inspections, interviews, and tracking? They can't even process tax stamps efficiently, but we expect them to be useful here? No thanks.
The ATF will handle psychological profiling, too? Hard pass.

Feel free to expand on this in comparison to regulating firearms.

Cool. I asked about other incidents as well. How many do you suppose would be prevented? Which ones?

How do we monitor and track that?

The number of firearms he had is relatively insignificant. It gets clicks, but he didn't need 23 firearms to do what he did.

So ammo now, too? What limits on that and how do we track it?

My firearms are more secure than those at Cabela's.
So, should we tell Cabela's they don't need more than 5-10 firearms in their store because they could, maybe, possibly, potentially be stolen?
The government loses weapons at a significant rate, but sure, let's trust them to handle it.

My firearms are more secure than those at Cabela's.
But more importantly if that's the case, what's the concern with occasional site verification.

What does that matter? But the cops responding and swat as well for sure.
So come on. Out of those guns, which would do the most damage? You don't have to call them by name (guarantee you don't know what half those guns are) so just pick which one.
I'll give you a hint. The secret service uses it.

Legally, no... and I'm not suggesting if a gun is stolen, that the owner should be responsible legally.
But if I own a car, and I left the car unlocked, and I left the keys in the engine, and someone stole it and ran over people... I would feel horrific.
