re: Does anyone here on this board have the balls to say they oppose weed legalization?

1. do you want me to start citing the studies showing all the problems with recreational marijuana?
2. even AMSTERDAM is cutting back on legality because they are tired of foreigners trashing the place and then leaving while amsterdam has to clean up the mess
3. i have a relative in texas law enforcement. states neighoring colorado are having significant criminal trouble because people are buying in colorado and reselling elsewhere.

Yes, Jjdoc is crazy like this in every thread.

Alcohol is much more widely used... You need to adjust for outcomes/effects relative to it's use.
If drugs are ever legalized, we will have the same issues we have with alcohol. Large increases in use and the effects from that use.

In fact, I pointed out that Portugal has had an increase of drug abuse by 60%.
That's not even close to true.
The link shows that drug use is down. The number of people in drug TREATMENT is up 60%... Because rather than sending them to jail (which is more expensive) the Portuguese government decided that treating people for their addiction is a better idea.
Link where you read that drug use in Portugal is up at all, let alone by 60%. While you're at it, link to the marijuana-related deaths, or link stats showing an increase in treatment for marijuana "addiction."
I'll wait.
Your arguments are attenuated and based on fault logic. Sounds like you're the only one here taking a stance based on prejudice.

And now you want to apply the same model to drugs that are way more damaging.
Marijuana is no where near as dangerous as alcohol. Not even in the same ballpark.

What are the verified negative effects of marijuana use?
You can leave out cancer. The continued legality of tobacco negates that argument.

Now Roger, you stated that legalizing Bud light reduced the use. It did not.
I asked you straight up to show me the reduction in alcohol after the repeal. Reduction did not happen.
What the frick? Where did I say this?

You asked what happened to the mob after the repeal. I answered. They imported drugs and drug use began to climb.
They turned to vice, deaths dropped dramatically

Then I addressed the legalization with verifiable facts that a black market is still in the utopian model of Portugal.
Drugs aren't legal in Portugal

fact, I pointed out that Portugal has had an increase of drug abuse by 60%. The state pays for it. When the recession hit, drug use spiked and no money was there for treatments.
Every stat I've seen shows no increase in addiction

At this point, it seems you are arguing for legalization based solely on desire.
Uh, no. You've ignored some major points
But freedom is extremely important to me, not to you

I'll never understand how someone can post such easily verifiable bullshite, get called out, and continue to post with no semblance of shame.

So now you are pushing aside all the arguments you had after me showing you the black markets and answering all of the questions for a "who cares... give me what I want" attitude?
That's great!
So I will answer that question too.
I care. I care enough about people to not stand by and be silent on out right lies pushed by people who simply want to create money for themselves at the cost of the lives ruined that these people will leave behind and the socialist insist I pay for.
I care enough about my kids to leave behind a world that says anything goes and other will pick up the tab.
I care enough to about humans to be honest when honesty is not wanted because the desire for a high out weighs it.
Next question.

He thinks marijuana literally kills hundreds of people every year.

That, and the fact that there is no good evidence for a link between cannabis use and cancer.

It's been proven numerous times in this thread that ending prohibition makes us all safer.
Posted on 1/5/18 at 2:06 pm to Sentrius
It should be a states' rights issue. Personally, I am against legalization.

Why don't you move on to mine now? Where is your evidence for the fatal effects of marijuana use?

The illegal trade of marijuana probably does... But in places where it is legal, that's just not true. There's really not even a colorable argument.

That, and the fact that there is no good evidence for a link between cannabis use and cancer.
Negative health effects from marijuana smoke is a weak argument. But it's the strongest he's got by far.

People getting treated for drug use that is not using drugs!
Damn interesting approach.
The link is on page 14 or 15 posted by a person spouting it as the best thing ever.
