re: Documents expose how Hollywood promotes war on behalf of the Pentagon, CIA and NSA

It's always seemed strange to me that the only thing the Democrats and Republicans agree on is war. The left, particularly the msm and Hollywood, oppose the right basically no matter what the issue is but for some reason when war comes up everyone agrees for the most part. It's just odd.

If you're interested in The Cave, may I also suggest you listen to the following podcast? The Self-Taught Philosopher: How a 900-year-old Arabic tale inspired the Enlightenment
It tells the story of Ibn Tufayl and how the transmission of knowledge from master to student (often disseminated through universities) deflects independent thinking. It also focuses on faith vs empiricism and how one can be a good theist either way—whether you think the world is eternal or believe that it was created. You can reconcile your science with God.
Anyway, it's one of my favorites; I thought it would interest those of you with an affinity for philosophy.

Jesus, do you have any concept of brevity? No one has all night to read and watch all of the shite you post.
And if you follow this with ten pages of pedo shite, I'm finding out who you are and coming to shoot you in the balls.

I understand your dissent, but why not save yourself 120 seconds of your life by just deciding not to read the posted info and type out a negative response? It seem to be a wasted intellectual, emotional and time investment. Odd
from me and my scrotal contents

I enjoyed the video of The Cave; it actually explained the allegory better than three separate philosophy professors I had in college. Their description of the reaction of the cave dwellers to the man that had wandered out was spot fricking on. Go tell a few people you know that the life they've been living is only a projection they're "allowed" to see...and watch hell unfold from their mouths.

Oh, I read hardly any of it, and I have never watched any of the three hour pedo videos you've posted several times.
I'm not even saying that you're wrong. I'm just saying that when you dump your entire personal link collection every time a subject comes up, you are FAR less likely to have anyone read or watch the material than if you just posted highlights. The fact that you dump the whole truck into every thread regarding the subject just makes you kind of a weirdo.
Even the lost soul known as TX Wacko keeps it short and sweet.

is this necessarily a bad thing?

None of this is a secret. The DOD wants to make itself look good on screen. It doesn't hurt that American people love war in general and the spectacle of violent entertainment. As for the CIA, it really has some of you convinced its a much more competent and capable organization than it actually is.

Well, you went right into Crazy Town with the wicca/Hollywood thing.

quote:My comment was speaking more to the bottom line, which is the establishment agenda and how propaganda herds both "sides" into executing it.
It reinforces the idea of how shallow Hollywood "liberals" really are. For all their talk about humanitarianism and bettering the 3rd world, they are part and parcel of the propaganda system that keeps the American war machine going. And they are either too stupid, apathetic or greedy to do a damn thing about it.
How does that make them any different from anyone else who knowingly (or unknowingly) carries water for the establishment?
The establishment isn't a left/right thing.
Because they feign concern for the people of the Middle East, yet carry water for the very war machine that kills those people they supposedly care about. Those on the right on this site tend to be up front in their contempt for the Middle East in general.
Does it really matter if the "left" feigns concern as it carries the establishment water, or the "right" feigns patriotism as it willingly sets out to get the boogeyman?
The bottom line is, both are doing the bidding of the establishment. That was my point.

ya, neither is the news
It isn't a left/right thing. It's an establishment thing set up to keep you fighting among yourselves.
It's divide and conquer. The fact that people can't recognize that is a big reason why nothing will ever change in this country until they do.
