I am currently posting from a government computer, so I have nothing but love, trust, and respect for the FBI.

How could they do that? I agree with you btw. Just don't know how an agency that has infinitely more info than I do, and got caught in a huge lie, could earn the trust back.

IRS awards Equifax no-bid contract to verify taxpayer ID

The IRS will pay Equifax $7.25 million to verify taxpayer identities and help prevent fraud under a no-bid contract issued last week, even as lawmakers lash the embattled company about a massive security breach that exposed personal information of as many as 145.5 million Americans. A contract award for Equifax’s data services was posted to the Federal Business Opportunities database Sept. 30 — the final day of the fiscal year. The credit agency will “verify taxpayer identity” and “assist in ongoing identity verification and validations” at the IRS, according to the award.

Hey, I already may have had my credit record stolen, why not throw in my taxes too?

I trust the FBI at a lower level. The FBI at the top... the political/career types... NO fricking way. Over the last 12 months they completely lost my trust.

No I don't trust ANY government employee, official, or politician. Add the news media in there as well.

The important question is. Do all 17 intelligence agencies agree. I for one will not believe until the Coast Guard Intelligence Agency tells me

To arrest people involved in a college basketball scandal? Yes. To be truthful to the American people regarding matters of national security and/or mass murders? That trust has been declining every day.

Not really. I don't know if it's always been "political" but I didn't know about it or if it became political recently. Comey really ruined my trust and obviously he wasn't the only bad apple.

In these times LE should never rule out radical Islamic terrorism so quickly.

Identify and oust all political hacks and leaks for a start. The culture has to be changed.

The FBI is more interested in creating Islamic terrorists here in the United States than stopping them. Seriously, there have been numerous cases of loner or marginal types with no ties to Islamic radicals who the FBI has targeted and essentially entrapped, all to make a big case, get some press and then get promoted.
