This was a Robert Jeffress sermon word for word.

Christians are being demonized and blamed for all the world's problems.
This is exactly what Germany did to the Jewish people.
It eventually went from taking away their rights to concentration camps and extermination.
The Germans and organizations that stood up for the Jewish people were tortured and executed.
The same is starting to happen with Christians. Defend them now. If you're not a Christian, still speak up. Christians did speak up for the Jewish people.
Eventually no one will speak up. History will ask why this was allowed to happen. History repeats.

I'm 40, so I'll probably be around another 30-40 years.
No. I will not witness this.
The US is currently about 2/3 Christian, so it's unlikely that by the time I die, it's less than 1/2.

How de facto privileged must a group be, to feel that it is being “persecuted“ for not being given de jure exemptions from rules and legislation which applied to absolutely everyone else?quote:
It worse than that. They feel "persecuted" when they aren't allowed to impose duties and take rights away from others.

In name only.
The number willing to face actual persecution for following Christ is much, much smaller.

As I interpret your post, the feds made exceptions for the George Floyd funeral observances, so that means that Christians were being persecuted for not receiving a blanket exception for all worship services. Apologies, but that is just silly.

Except that it’s really not.
Actual Christians comprise about 10% or less of the US population. And 10% is probably generous.
However, if you define as, “Christian,” anyone who identifies as Christian because grandma went to church and was a Southern Baptist, but they, themselves, haven’t attended a church at all in the last year (except, perhaps, Easter or Christmas Eve); don’t attend church regularly; don’t pray; don’t read their Bible; are completely ignorant of basic Christian doctrine, don’t live by the standards set forth by the Bible; believe that “it doesn’t matter what you believe as long as you’re a good person;” and who otherwise denounces Christian doctrine and orthodoxy when it’s socially convenient, then, yeah- probably 2/3 of the population are “Christian.”

He said it depends on the definition you choose.
You obviously think it's accurate to go with the nominal definition.
That's fine, but I'm not sure it is the best one to use in the context of a group facing persecution and the argument that it won't happen because there are too many of them in the country.
Assuming your nominal definition, sure, there are a bunch of them, but to his point, very few who will stand up to persecution.
Which is the point of the discussion.

The answer is still "no," but it is a different question.

What a long winded whiner you are.
Define severe persecution.
Public/Private criticism of your faith is what you are supposed to expect and endure.
Cultural rejection is and was always part of Jesus's messages.
I believe you are voicing your own lack of faith and displaying your own fear of whatever.
Your longing for worldly power is shameful.

Baw, I’d bet that 2/3 of Christians aren’t Christians.
Matthew 7:21–23 (NASB95): “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
22 “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many ?miracles?’
23 “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’
Do you really believe that 2/3 people are doing the will of the Father?

You think Christians aren't being persecuted in Kosovo, Turkey and Albania? Seriously?
