Look this is a bunch of crap Trump started. All this BS he spouts about American jobs is just that---BS.
He is working to help very large US businesses grow aboard---that is his goal with the Chinese trade war and that is the goal with this stupid bill and new federal bureaucracy that subsidizes construction and building and investment in certain foreign countries.
Who is advising this guy???
LINK
Under the guise that competing with China for influence in other countries is important Congress passed this bill. Of course they warned it was of defense concerns too so that the President could act. What it is--subsidies and giveaways.
Please tell me you guys do not support such crap.

The U.S. has launched a new strategy aimed at ramping up investment in Asia to vie with Chinese President Xi Jinping’s overseas infrastructure-building spree, as Beijing grapples with setbacks to its sprawling program.
But China has a head start—and a state-led model that makes it easier to finance and build on a large scale. Mr. Xi’s Belt and Road initiative has offered hundreds of billions of dollars for railways, bridges and ports in dozens of countries, expanding its strategic influence along the way.
Among the recipients are economies that have struggled to attract U.S. investment or adequate financing from multilateral banks.
The Trump administration is looking to change that by helping the private sector invest. In October, President Trump signed into law the Build Act, which creates a new development finance agency that offers loans, loan guarantees and political-risk insurance to private companies.
Mr. Trump said last year that this strategy would offer “strong alternatives to state-directed initiatives that come with many strings attached,” a reference to Beijing’s plan. The goal, proponents say, is to encourage businesses to invest in low-income countries and spur growth with projects that make economic sense.
The Build Act allows for $60 billion in U.S. development financing around the world under the new agency, the U.S. International Development Finance Corp. The IDFC merges existing programs, doubles the current agency’s spending cap and has the authority to own equity stakes in projects, giving it more flexibility to choose and guide them.
The U.S. sees Belt and Road as a tool used by Beijing to advance its strategic and military interests. A number of Trump administration officials and U.S. lawmakers describe the risks of China using “debt traps” to gain control of sensitive infrastructure and “predatory economics” to undermine the autonomy of debt-burdened countries.
Please tell me you guys do not support such crap.

So Trump introduced the bill to Congress, voted on it, then signed it all by himself? He really is streamlining government

Congress sent it to him and he signed it and now he administers the USIDFC and the spending.

No hell it is not!! It is $60 billion in taxpayer money AND it is unlimited future obligations under this stupid political risk insurance he is having the US taxpayer provide US companies investing in these countries.
Read it yourself.
I know you people's mind shut down when you see something that does not fit your idea of what Trump is and what he is doing but try to overcome that.

Again, what does the word "liberal" mean (not today's definition)?
Posted on 11/13/18 at 9:33 am to I B Freeman
What’s its relation to tariffs?

Just wait when you get a Democrat president. You are going to have more things to complain about than you ever thought possible.

I'm old enough to remember when Obama would fine corporations and funnel all the proceeds to ONLY liberal anti cop and anti conservative political organizations.

I don't see much difference today.
Democrat trade policies and taxes.
The ONLY good thing I have personally experience thus far is the tax cut and I admit that is a big deal for me.
Clear to me but not to you people is that the tariffs proposed for 2019 will eat the tax savings up for most Americans through higher prices from domestic manufacturers and out and out tariffs from the government. Steel is but one very good example. As the price increases ripple through the economy it will consume disposable income and dramatically slow economic growth. So much so that I think Trump will not implement them as threatened. (I thought that until I read this BS this morning. Is his motive just to help multinational companies???)

What does that have to do with this???
Are you trying to say you want Trump to carry on taxpayer abuse and improper use of government because Obama did???

If what you say is true, it is outrageous and should be opposed by any small government or free market conservatives (not many here).
However, I'm not sure I can follow your assertion that this will definitely use taxpayer funds. Do you have another source?

There will not be much response to this thread because the TSM (trumpkin stream media) will not mention it in today's newscast or podcast or telegraph cables.

Unless you are prepared to expose corruption regardless of party, this is nothing more than another attack on a president that has half the world against him. Find me an administration that didn't have abuse of taxpayer funds.
Why do i have to give taxpayer funds to illegal immigrants when there are millions of citizens already here that need help? Just more waste.

The friggin US International Development Finance Corporation is a new government agency the build act created!!!!!
The $60 billion is not even the worse thing. They are going to going to guarantee any American companies that builds plants in these foreign countries that they will protect them from "political uncertainty."
