US International Development Finance Corporation is a new government agency
Big problem with this, agreed.
Still unclear if $60B is taxpayer funds or maximum investment allowed by private companies.
That said, this sounds a lot like what the ACA did for insurance companies, which was pretty soundly argued against on this forum.

The $60 billion is not even the worse thing. They are going to going to guarantee any American companies that builds plants in these foreign countries that they will protect them from "political uncertainty."

I vote republican and scream about corruption in government regardless of party. The improper actions of one party does not make corruption by the other party OK with me.
I damn sure am not going to quietly sit by and let someone I voted for do crap I have principled objections too.

it is the funding authorized for the USIDFC and is clearly taxpayer money.

Correct
These people have allowed themselves to accept the Progressive justification that the ends justify the means in order to believe Trump is always doing the right thing strategically

So Trump introduced the bill to Congress, voted on it, then signed it all by himself? He really is streamlining government
Rubio votes for it!!!!!

What am i missing? Granted i skimmed through that but the overview i got was. China is using financing to gain footholds and possibly possession of infrastructure in developing / 3rd world (didnt they just give venezuela 60 billion?) and we are trying to create a means to counter that and develop our own inroads?
On a macro scale, how much of an immigration problem would there be if we invested in Guatamala...Honduras etc

Trumponomics is neither liberal or conservative. A lot more people will support government intervention because of Trump

to what end is that important to the defense of or the prosperity of the American people??
we have failed with interventionism time and time again and I do not like working to pay taxes to see it continue.

When you start authorizing the government to invest in companies as this bill allows the USIDFC to do the word is not so much socialism.

I think I will bump this so the usual down voters can have a second chance to down vote Trump using their money to help companies invest and manufacture in other countries.

You have NO principles if you directly do business with China. Which we all know you do.

You do too—everyday but now that Trump has put these tariffs in place it will cost you more.

No, I do not. But see, you do. And that's why you are so vehemently against Trumps tariffs. China has you bent over a barrel and you just have to sit there and take it because they are the only producer of your imported product. Or so you say. They are probably just the cheapest. Therefore you are not a principled person.

Dude. You don’t have to create a new thread for ever Wall Street Journal article that comes out. I can read them just as easily on the website as you can.
