Do you ever stop and think about how lucky we are?

And how stupid we are to be fighting to screw it up?
How important it is that all citizens work towards keeping the government in check cannot be overstated.
Government is the great equalizer. It can spawn generations of enlightenment and it can usher in generations of depression and darkness.
If you grew up in America and still live here, then you grew up and live in the greatest country in history during the greatest period for humanity in history.
Americans make up roughly 4.5% of the population on earth. It is a shame to waste what we have and get bogged down by the petty squabbles and mundane malaise.
If we could all just realize and take in how lucky we are to be Americans regardless of color creed or code maybe we could get past the identity politics and divisive political discourse and just work to keep our country great and prosperous.
There is nothing more important than discussing our beliefs and ideas and trying to find common ground and understanding. The ability to do that freely is what makes America unique.
Before we start attacking each other in every thread based on party lines we should take a moment to take a breathe and try to just discuss the issues rather than personal insults and distracting nonsense posts.
We should all be independents. Free thinkers. Americans.

We all won the historical lottery to have been born in this country at this time in our history.
I actually think about this quite often. Just a generation or two earlier and the game changes completely for a lot of us (and likely not for the better compared to present day).

What does your Father and brother do? Saw your father, but never got to see what your brother was discussing, or why he was one CNN.

Two generations earlier and instead of spending our mornings squabbling on a satellite device instantly with anyone on the planet about which celebrity has the best shoes while we take a dump and then go to a safe well paying job we would have either been living through the biggest depression in this country's history and working full time at 15 or we would be dieing in a foreign land at 18.

My dad works in HR for Marywood University in Scranton, PA.
My brother is in territory sales up in DFW. CNN contacted him after catching wind of the YouTube vids we've been putting out.

You Tube videos? I guess I missed all of this. Do you mind linking these? If not, I understand. I’m just curious about the subject matter.

We can all be grateful we're living in modern times.

I do like the idea underlying this thread. It’s just the execution of it that remains a messy proposition, but endeavor we shall.......

And who is it that hypes those "petty squabbles"?
Perhaps it is the people spending ALL frickING DAY talking about calling a dog a dog rather than reporting on a woman beater winning a primary to be the top law officer in one of those so called "enlightened" blue states.

That simply doesn't fit the agenda , for either of the establishment party members.
"... it takes a long time to do the necessary administrative steps that have to be taken to put the legislation together to control the people. "
- John Dingell, ( Democrat. MI )
