It won't be for a lack of effort by the left, that's for damned sure.

Not as long as we have a right leaning Supreme Court. That is why is is so important.

Never mind like-minded euro liberals implementing this nonsense already, and the American libs pushing hard on DEI/trans nonsense here in the past decade…..

Any majority of elected officials that do the bidding of the UN and WEF will be pushing for this here.
Basically, establishment type (Dem's and RINOS) will be for this.

Yes, their populists push the agenda as well. No populists care about things like the 1st Amendment when someone is saying things they don't like.
Because populists are like little children who can't think through how violating foundational principles to "own" the other side are going to come back to bite them.
So sure, the left has been dominated by populists for a lot longer than the right. Sure, leftist populists don't care about the 1st any more than rightist populists.
But rightist populists happen to be in power right now. And by way of the most quintessential populist in modern history in the WH.
And rightist populism is dominant enough now for it to happen. Case in point, the guy I replied to above genuinely doesn't understand how the government banning billboards in languages other than English isn't exactly the same violation of the 1st amendment as the topic of this thread. And it's not because it's a difficult concept, it's because to a populist, anything they like is obviously justified in violating the constitution and anything they don't is obviously not, just on that basis.
So I could be wrong, but that's why I said I put my money on MAGA. Because MAGA has a head start on opportunity.

Well you should have plenty of examples by now. Where are they?
In the meantime, on a personal level, I almost lost my job for not getting a shot four years ago I didn't want or need.
I lost my Twitter account before Musk bought the company for posting a factual article that BLM killed a black cop in Baton Rouge.
I was forced to take DEI courses at my job where I had to put on paper that I was a white male that should atone for my sins of raising polite kids that have jobs and are on time.
Again, give us some examples as all of these came from your team.

Great example, don't forget anyone that wouldn't take a shot they didn't want or need.
Muh MAGA

This is really a useless question because the answer is obviously yes.
They've already censored conservative online speech, targeted conservative non-profits and reporters, committed egregious lawfare against conservative politicians, and attempted to develop a government agency to control public speech.

Logical fallacy. Someone doesn't have to have done something before they do it in order for it to be likely for them to do it.

Unless you work for the government, none of those have anything to do with the 1st Amendment or government recrimination for unpopular speech. They are all the actions of private companies.

Again, give us some examples
Sure. The easiest example is the way that the current administration has attacked the DEI nonsense. What they should have done is attack discrimination. Send the FBI in to investigate the violation of federal civil rights law...that would have been upheld and it's everywhere, so investigating it and finding some great, solid cases should have been easy.
Instead (because Trump has to feel like an Emperor who does everything unilaterally), the administration issued three EOs prohibiting DEI programs.
Again, that's something that sounds great if you are a rightist populist. "Trump owned those libs!" But it's a dumb way to go about it because it creates ambiguity and invites violations of the 1st Amendment. Don't worry, I'll get there...
I happen to live in Alabama. My wife teaches in a clinical setting at a public university in Alabama. The MAGA Alabama legislature followed Trump's lead and passed SB129, a (now) state law that not only prohibits specific DEI programs, it also prohibits teaching "divisive concepts."
I'm not sure how much better textbook example you could have than a state government prohibiting certain speech—under penalty of criminal prosecution—because it's unpopular ("divisive").
That's an example that actually pertains to the 1st Amendment and not a private employer, and it was MAGA all the way.
And make no mistake, it does extend to speech. There is a class that is routinely taught in the university clinic to prospective student interns about recognizing that people come from different backgrounds, therefore you may need to calibrate your interactions with them differently (or risk missing important clinical information). It's common sense, really, but today's students apparently need to be taught common sense.
Anyway, since this law has gone into effect, the faculty have been advised by legal that if they so much as utter the word "diversity," in class they are breaking the law and can be prosecuted and the university sued.
My wife tells me that this has already happened at some other university, so it's a real threat.

came from your team.
Nope, nothing like that would ever come from my team. I'm a conservative. The problem is that there aren't enough of us left in the US to field a significant team.
But we would be the last team to ever do any of this nonsense.

Kamala and the Dims were already making plans to start doing that shite here if she had won the election. Make no mistake, when the Dems regain control of the white house and congress, this stuff will be happening here.
