I think part of the disagreement is that "biolab" covers a huge range of things.
A lab studying infectious disease, a facility storing dangerous pathogens, a biodefense program, and an offensive bioweapons program are not the same thing. Which category are people objecting to here?

"The biolab conspiracy theory" seems to suffer from the same vagueness problem. Some people meant "labs existed". Some meant "dangerous pathogens present". Others meant "offensive bioweapons research". Those aren't interchangeable.
