Right now it appears this has happened to her because of opinions she has about Gaza and Israel.

She and I almost certainly agree but there is no scenario where I want people being abruptly detained or deported for expressed opinions.

“Supports unamerican views” cannot stand in for probable cause.

You are so full of shite. She openly cheered for Hamas.
Hamas is a terrorist organization. This stupid bitch just made the leap from FA to FO. Period.

I don't think she or anyone else is being deported for expression. But, lets just assume it is true.

Why is it dangerous to deport non-citizens whose views align and whose actions support a terrorist organization that kills Americans?

How do you feel about people being arrested and imprisoned like this for little more than walking around a building?

Do you have some reason to believe that the government is acting outside of the law here?

I haven't seen anything that indicates that. Not yet, anyway.

This isn't an American citizen. She's a guest here. She can be uninvited, and the criteria for doing so are pretty broad.

1. Because the government is often wrong and/or arbitrary. Skepticism of government shouldn’t exist only when you like what the government is doing.

2. If you play this out you arrive in a world that is worse. By this metric, anyone who has posted that Canada should become the 51st state on tigerdroppings should be a target for detention if they ever travel to Canada on a tourist visa. I don’t want nations mass surveilling speech and then detaining visitors. Some do. They are are nearly all awful places.

3. We benefit from people coming to America and expressing themselves freely in science, art, business. Some of that expression will be lousy or even dangerous.

4. Todays terrorist organization is tomorrow’s partner and today’s partner is tomorrow’s sworn enemy.

Not since Huckster Carlson became the populist sensei.

He's got those "conservatives" praising the opposite of just about everything conservatives have been against my entire lifetime.

Again, what is the evidence that the government is doing something wrong in this case?

I was against that.

This, not so much.

The first group was American citizens protesting their own government.

This woman is a non-citizen who is openly supporting an international terrorist group from a region of the world where governments routinely back terrorist groups and in fact one of them financially backed the last group of people who killed Americans on our own soil. She is here as a guest and the criteria for asking her to leave is not very difficult to satisfy.

People can act like that is unreasonable, but those people would be wrong.

It is amazing how many here are so easily persuaded by propaganda.

Even if she is 100% pro-Hamas, that's an Israel issue (not a U.S. one). Do you have some link between Hamas and Al Qaeda? Why are we deporting people for Israel?

I posted this in the other thread about the lil terrorist girl. Its pretty simple.

quote:

quote:

1. Visa Revocation
Legal Basis: The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) Section 212(a)(3)(B) deems individuals inadmissible if they engage in terrorist activities, including endorsing or espousing terrorist activity, persuading others to support it, or providing material support to a terrorist organization (designated or undesignated). The Department of State has broad authority under INA Section 221(i) to revoke a visa if such activities are confirmed.

Process: If evidence emerges—say, through public statements, social media posts, or participation in events supporting a group like Hamas (a U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization)—the State Department can revoke the visa without prior notice. The student would be informed after the fact, often through their school or immigration authorities.

Is there some reason to think the gov't is not following the law here?

quote:

By this metric, anyone who has posted that Canada should become the 51st state on tigerdroppings should be a target for detention if they ever travel to Canada on a tourist visa.

By what metric? Is there an organization built around the idea of making Canada the 51st state that engages in terrorism - killing Canadians? This analogy makes absolutely no sense.

quote:

3. We benefit from people coming to America and expressing themselves freely in science, art, business. Some of that expression will be lousy or even dangerous.

How does it benefit us to have people who support organizations and governments that terrorize the West and kill Americans come here and express themselves. And, how is dangerous to try our best to keep those people out? You are just saying platitudes with no substance. how is dangerous?

quote:

4. Todays terrorist organization is tomorrow’s partner and today’s partner is tomorrow’s sworn enemy.
