It's great watching liberals get themselves in legal and philosophical pickle, pretzel situation. If you give liberals time they always walk right back into their own trap.

If allowed to stand, this judges ruling should effectively end all other liberal 2a challenges.

I imagine more liberal courts are going to make a lot of these rulings with cases that will troll conservatives.

You think I’m getting “trolled” by the government allowing more guns?

This reminds me of this quote.

Since when do illegals have the same rights as citizens?

Since always?

After a brief look, I found a case from the 1800s.

In this very thread, I provided a quote by James Madison on the subject. He knows a thing or 2 about our Constitution.

"the right of the people". I suppose it would be decided who is referred to as "the people". I would assume that it refers to citizens.

In more recent days there are questions on the gun ownership list that refers to citizenship. So which is the "law" of the day?

I am torn on this one too. Let's start with Due Process which is a constitution right. If illegals don't get Due Process, then the government could come raid me and say I'm an illegal alien, I say no, I can prove I am a citizen, and they say sorry, you are an illegal alien and don't get due process to prove you are a citizen, so it is a slippery slope.

I think if Congress codified this matter, and took away 2nd amendment rights for illegal aliens, the courts wouldn't have a problem with it. I think many conservative courts are tired of having to make law from their benches (liberal judges love it).

Illegal immigrants are not THE PEOPLE

They're counted as such for apportioning representation, per USSC, so yeah, they are. I don't like it, but I also don't like any restrictions on gun ownership. If they want to rape and kill, or do a street takeover, they'll do with with rocks if they want to.
