segments problem to geographical areas. i believe passports come with much more restrictions and tougher validations (vetting) are can be made so pretty quickly with a trifecta common sense gov.

The Constitution requires states to provide "full faith and credit" to the actions of other states. So, your plan violates the Constitution.

getting my passport it took an effort due to vetting .

The Star ID is similar, although not as stringent... Why not just require that?

We already have State picking a choosing on concealed carry and other items they should not be allowed to do so...

I’d have to have 24 passports.

Why do you hate people that travel?

50 more layers of bureaucracy instead of just controlling the border?

You must be a government employee.

Change my mind.

illegal aliens would constantly be identified as frauds that would cripple their usefulness.
nobody can tolerate the constant rejection and public announcement (yes print their names and photos) on registers like most wanted posters! they will leave .

Employee ID seems to be a better solution. We’ve all had enough.

Thus Trump 312 EC & popular vote.

Like the Constitution

Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.

What do you think that says?

So.. you wouldn't legally be able to drive outside of your state? No thanks

You would with a passport. Citizens of other countries are use to carrying their passports.

NO, a single passport , a passport is not ease to get especially when going to certain countries so turn their weapon against them !

Good lord.

This board has some real doozies that force me to concede to my more liberal friends that the right has its share of crazies, too.

If this is such a crazy idea ask them (or yourself) why states don't have to honor a concealed carry permit from another state.

No, they’re not.

Serious question: How much time have you spent overseas? They carry them when they need to, ie, they are actually crossing borders. Europeans used to be most likely to because they had a high degree of cross-border activity for commerce. With Schengen, that is largely gone.

A few isolated places may also increase the use, eg, cross the causeway from Singapore to Malaysia.

Other than that, passports are generally left at home just like here.

I have no idea and won’t shoot from the hip on this (rimshot). I’m not much of a gun guy, so I don’t know a lot about the various laws. Nothing at all against them. Just something that was pretty low interest in my family.
