Disney is asking the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to consider whether “The View” is exempt from a statutory “equal time” requirement that applies to broadcast shows.

In a recent filing with the agency, Disney, which owns ABC, argued “‘The View’ qualifies” as a “bona fide” news show under the law and compared itself to Sunday public affairs programs such as “Meet The Press” or “Face The Nation.”

Disney is obviously desperate.

They're gonna get bitch slapped down, one way or the other.

I wish the SEC wasn't tied to their ABC/ESPN coat tails.

They can't really believe that.

The same show in which multiple hosts have had to make public apologies and retract false statements to avoid colossal lawsuits? That show and those hosts?

Whoopi should have stuck with Ted Danson, because that was literally the pinnacle of her life. How fricking tragic is that??

I hope to see the continued decline and eventual fall of Disney. I loved Disney as a kid, but imo that radical company is pure evil.

I loved how The Simpsons would make fun of Disney.

Now they are owned by them. Heck they even predicted Disney taking over 20th Century Fox Studios.

Disney calls it a news show so they can say it's the highest rated news show in that time slot, mainly because there are no other news shows on broadcast at that time. If they called it entertainment, they couldn't say it's number one because Price is Right beats it.

Sec going to espn/abc has been great. Night games every week, all the games can be easily streamed. It’s been awesome.
