For folks experiencing virtually no attraction to the opposite sex (K5, K6) there is, with near certainty, an accountable biologic mechanism.

It's hilarious that this is still "debated" when they have determined a physiological difference between the brains of many homosexuals when compared to heterosexuals.

I dunno about y'all, but I can't choose to change the shape of my brain.

You'd be OK.

You believe the "urges" are what categorize a person as gay?

Of course. Does your urge to sleep with women categorize you as straight? I would say yes.

Well there is that whole neuroplasticity thing but you'd have to do a lot of brain training to change your sexual preference.

Don't know the one you speak of, took the dog for walks every weekend in STL. It is big enough to drop LSU into it and still have room for a park.

id imagine the answer is some of the gays do have a choice, some born that way.

i don't get what's so hard to understand about this

i would guess that the vast majority are born gay and very few choose it

As a supplemental post, this thread was meant to assert that being gay isn't genetic.

Scientists have given up on gay being genetic

They are now investigating as to whether its epigenetic, something that ocurred to the fetus in the womb. Meaning, its preventable, once the cause is determined

Or, its not epigenetic. And it really is only a choice based on events in ones upbringing

But lets make one thing clear, it is not genetic

Isnt there a physiological difference between male/ female brains?

Does that stop them from choosing surgery to become the other?

Physiological changes in the brain have been noted in relation to many different types of chosen activities

Is that so?

Science can't pinpoint the genetic markers for intelligence. That must mean intelligence isn't genetic.

No shite. It's been over 110 years. I'm sure there's been disagreements.

The stupidity in this thread makes my head hurt. Entertaining though I guess. The guy in the original article is either Bi, or gay and trying to go back in the closet because he's been brainwashed to thinking there's something wrong with him. Not that hard to figure out.

Or he tried vagina and realized it was awesome, like I said. It's not that hard to figure out. Vagina=Awesome

Good for him. I hope it works out for him and his wife.

Why all the criticism for the man? The article never said the dude was "cured" of same-sex attraction. He just quit participating in the behavior to do what he thinks God wants him to do. Good for him.
