The dog was there because the guy had been pulled over by a K-9 unit before he took off. Most likely because he had drugs in the car. The whole video is on the channel police pursuits on YouTube.

Man, you must love some police violence. There’s nothing in that video that warrants using the dog or breaking the window to get to the occupants of the vehicle. Cops are supposed to de-escalate the situation, not ramp up the action.

You guys can sit in the comfort of your home and argue that the guy should have made a better decision but you aren’t the one surrounded by men pointing guns at you, bashing in the windows, screaming in your ears and pushing their angry barking dog in you’re lap.

Ah, yes. Pretending you know what led up to that the moments before.
No one supports police violence. But complying goes a long way in not getting a K9 unleashed on you.
