You also don't fire off a lot of shots at gop congressmen, at a relatively close distance, and fail to kill a single one of them.
The people trying to take out our congressmen aren't exactly the smartest of individuals.

Wife of congressman who was on train with her 8 kids interviewed right now.
Discussing that they had scout helicopters and Capitol Police are supposed to block all crossings as part of protection.

its definitely a thought that crosses the mind of the average person hearing about it.
the roads were "supposed" to be closed to prevent this exact thing from happening too so that adds to the mystery.
some early speculation is the truck was stuck on the tracks but it wasnt clear if that was by actually being stuck or if blocked from getting all the way across the tracks by traffic.
at this point i think its just a dumb accident and someone in charge of clearing the tracks ahead of the train will be fired for negligence and not doing their job

Arms were down, lights were flashing, traffic was diverted, roads were closed to protect the train, crossing was obscured from further up the tracks by a curve and trees insuring the train would not be able to stop in time to avoid collision.
